That was about the only verbal response Iris would have been able to make initially, had she thought a verbal response to Zelos' intoxication were appropriate. Well, that and Hera's request that she take notes. Apparently she was feeling generous enough to do a... PR makeover on him. How utterly bizarre.
Iris was fascinated.
It wasn't even as if she thought Hera disliked the children of Styx, it just was more than she never really seemed to give them enough consideration to want to go out of her way like this. So... it was a particularly interesting situation. It was utterly fascinating. Obviously he had poured his heart out to the Queen of Olympus in some manner, and now she was taking pity on him. Which explained his drunken state.
Iris contained the snort she wanted to add, since she knew Hera had been making a cut at Zeus... it was inappropriate in current company to make a remark herself, but she did smirk slightly as she pulled out the stylus and set her tablet up to allow her to use shorthand the way she preferred to. Then, quietly, for Hera's ears only, she added, “is he horribly jealous of his brother's long-term relationship? Because that's quite ironic, isn't it?” She had to fight to keep the smirk from getting larger. After all, she would have thought he'd be able to control his own realm of powers within himself, or maybe feed of his own issues... instead he was moping.
It was terrible, yes, but she was amused. Sympathetic, to an extent, but he got himself there. “If you're helping him,” she added, “I hope he's willing to put some of his own leg work into this. Does no good if he's just going to go back into bad patterns in two weeks' time.”
