Just as she heard the knock, the oven door was opening and towel in hand -she had a thing against oven mitts, removed the perfectly golden pan of cinnamon pull-apart out and set on the burner before closing the oven door and turning it off. Baking was done and Lottie had arrived!
“I do bake,” she said, rounding into the living room. “Not that a lot of people really know that. As I'm sure you know, fresh baked goods tend to disappear... quickly. If any of the guys smell the garlic cheese bread I get the biggest, poutiest faces put my way... and I'm a sucker, so I'm lucky if I get any.” Ninkasi grinned. “But I heard your baking is kind of legendary. Or... at least the proud bragging I've heard as lead me to believe.”
At that point, waved her toward the kitchen so Lottie could unload her bag if she wanted. “I'm down for baking anything at any point, and you do not have to worry about having a recipe to go with beer.” The grin she flashed this time was a proud and somewhat wicked one at the same one. “I have a beer for everything.”
Reaching forward, she gave her new friend a happy hug. She was a very tactile person and she knew Philotes didn't mind since she all but pounced Ninkasi at their first meeting, within seconds, with one. “I'm so glad you're here! Welcome to my house!”
