Sojourners

LJ-SEC: (ORIGINALLY POSTED BY [info]multiclassgeek)

Taking my usual post-service look in my church's bookshop, one book in particular caught my eye - "God's Politics - Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It" by Jim Wallis. From my brief perusal, it started off looking at the 2004 Presidential elections (special attention to the horribly-biased "moral values votes" exit poll) then moved onto looking at the different ways that the different political parties in the US miss the point when it comes to religious matters.

Also mentioned was the organisation known as the Sojourners - A movement to integrate spiritual renewal and social justice (which sets it at loggerheads with the Religious Right).

I was wondering if anyone here has encountered either the book, the man, or the organisation. Certainly the Sojourners seem like the sort of group that would have a place on the community's Links sidebar.
