Alicia often just popped by the restaurant, it wasn’t strange or abnormal for her to be found in the kitchen grabbing a few bites of whatever was being cooked at that moment. She was chatting with one of the line cooks when she finally saw her sister walk in.
“Whose been keeping you busy out there?” Alicia asked, keeping her tone light. “Don’t tell me it is whoever flash hired you for that catering gig on the 13th.” she smiled. “Rocco mentioned it to me. Sounds interesting.”
Emilia shrugged, but smiled when Alicia mentioned her upcoming catering job. “It’s actually pretty cool,” Em said. “It’s this really cool showcase of old muggle paintings that are charmed to move like ours. It’s a really big deal that they asked us to cater it!” Emilia was really excited for the event and had been working hard on the menu.
"Sounds exciting!" Alicia said in a chipper tone. "Trying anything new for the menu? Or are you going with what you know works?" She asked, focusing on the food first.
Emilia made a face. “The guy running it is a little [...] eccentric and he's really picky about what food we can use,” she admitted. Putting together a menu that worked around his culinary taste was a challenge, but one she was definitely up to, even if it seemed really strange. “I had to get a little creative with the menu.” Briefly, she listed a few of the key items she planned on making for it.
Alicia tilted her head curiously. “Is he the sort that will only have cheese for a set cow?” She knew there were people out there like that. After the list Alicia nodded. “That sounds like a good list.”
She paused. “So, give me the run down, how is the day going to shape up?” This wasn’t a strange question, Alicia often did that when she knew there was a big event, talking through the steps was a good thing.
Emilia filled Alicia in without hesitation, explaining what the schedule looked like for the day. “It seems like there’s a lot of secrecy,” she explained. “We’re not going to be allowed in to set up as early as I’d like.” Probably just more of the bloke’s eccentricity, she supposed. It would make for a tight schedule, but Emilia found it pretty easy to be accommodating.
Alicia listened, making mental notes of everything she’d need to tell Susan and Perry. “Need help setting anything up that day?” Alicia offered as one of the lines cooks handed her a breadstick and she took a bite.
The question wasn’t that surprising coming from Alicia, but Emilia still hesitated. Elle was going to be there helping already and she knew the two of them didn’t really get along. “Well, er, I wouldn’t mind, but Elle is going to be there, too,” she admitted.
Alicia shrugged but did remember to roll her eyes, she couldn’t say it but she knew Elle wouldn’t actually be helping. “I can still help and avoid her.” She said. “I’ll come by and do whatever you lot need.” Alicia offered.
Emilia nodded. She frowned a little at the comment about Alicia avoiding Elle before she could stop herself. It wasn’t a surprise, but she was always a little disappointed by how at odds Elle was with the rest of their siblings. She wished everyone could get along better. “I think you know I’m always happy to put you to work,” she said, replacing the brief frown with a smile.
“Well, have to help protect my investment too,” she teased. “Alright, run me through what you think you’ll need and I’ll make sure I’m here on time.”
