Pair: Quatre and Dorothy (4+D if you squint)

Note: There was a drabble meme around around LJ a few years back and I did some requests. Meritjubet requested "Dorothy... Competition suits her nicely, I believe. Preferably between her and Quatre."


Technically, Quatre was winning the chess match, but that could be debated. She'd lost the most pieces, but he'd lost the pieces that mattered. He scowled and put his head in one hand, glancing up at Dorothy, who grinned evilly at him.

His scowl grew deeper. "What?"

Her infamous eyebrows arched up and her grin went cruel. With exaggerated care to expose her breasts as she bent down, she dragged her knight down and to the right, to one specific weak point he had not taken into consideration. He must have been tired to have missed it. Well... no, he wasn't tired.

He stared at Dorothy's breasts, his scowl fading to a frown, and then he sighed. He was a man, and he was very distracted. She did things. Distracting... cheating... things.

A tongue parted from her mouth, wetting her lips, and she said, "Check mate."

Then she laughed at him.

It was the first time he lost since they'd started playing against each other. He swore loudly and started assembling the board again, shaking his head to get the distractions off his mind. "We're playing again, Dorothy," he said with a snarl, "and this time there is to be no cheating."

"You're such a bad loser, Quatre..."
