[GW] Catherine Kills
Catherine Kills
by cozzybob
Pair: just Catherine
Warning: blood, violence, OC death, angst
Note: For GW500's challenge #86, steel, on LJ.
Catherine studied her own expression in the mirrored edge of the blade, and she did not like what she saw there. She flicked the knife angrily into the air and caught it again by the hilt, frowning darkly as she eyed the man before her a look only associated with predators. The man, bound and gagged on the floor of her trailer, squirmed uncomfortably.
She breathed in deeply, calming the nerves her face did not show. "You're from OZ," she said.
It was a simple fact. The man did nothing.
Catherine's frown curled into a sneer of hatred. "You were in Trowa's trailer."
Still, the man did not move. Catherine loomed over him, her teeth gritting furiously in the cramped cabin. She pulled four other knives from thin air and positioned them expertly in one hand.
"You know what he is," she said quietly.
There was silence. Again, the man did not move.
"I can't let you hurt him."
Her gray eyes glinted mysteriously.
The first knife sailed out of Catherine's hand in a blur of steel and caught itself into the floor so close to the bound man's face that a thin red line streamed down his cheek. All of her knives were extremely sharp, and Catherine felt pride that she was as good as she was, her knives loved and cared for like another extension of her body.
But she did not smile. "I'm going to have to kill you," she said.
The remaining three knives whipped from her fingers like three silver bullets and gorged themselves at specific points throughout the man's body. Blood spewed like a geyser and splashed upon her face, but Catherine only stood there. The man thrashed, and then made an odd gargling noise that echoed in the claustrophobic walls--a plea, issued from a bloodied and gagged mouth. He wanted to die.
Catherine took the knife from beside his head, and drove it deeply into his heart. When she pulled away, her eyes were wet. She stood there and she cried.
