My daughter is dead and my husband has left me, taking our son-

I've been here for a few months and have not done enough to help earn my keep. I have aided in some hunting, but what else needs to be done in the community?

What can you do, my lady?

I am looking for something to pass my time as well and to get my mind off of other things.

It would be nice to have something useful to do.

I imagine it amounts to what can I not do? I have hunted, I have farmed, I have raised livestock. I have raised two children, fought in wars, woven fabric to create clothing for my family, nursed others in illness, fed and cared for my village. I am an jarl's wife and I've experience in running a village.

How strange your world must be!

A woman can do all those things?

I don't find it strange at all. It is simply how things are. But yes, I have done all of that and it is not so strange in my society.

I have...heard of such things. I am told I may do as wish here, but my home is not so...free.

Would you...perhaps you could teach me how to do these things? Some of them, anyway?

Which of these do you wish to learn?

Perhaps...perhaps first you could teach me to cook?

I imagine I could do that. I'll warn you, I'm not so very familiar with the modern technology here and largely prepare my meals over a fire in the hearth.

That is how it was done where I came from, too. I should like to learn that way.

Then yes, I could teach you how to cook. I'm living in the church, if you'd like to meet me there sometimes?

Yes, I can certainly do that.

My name?

My Lord Loki? Are you- forgive me, I didn't realize there were gods here.

I have kept myself to myself.

You're very out of time, aren't you?

I understand, my lord.

I am, and I have no idea how I came to be here.

No, it is quite a conundrum. I was on a train before i arrived here. It's all rather challenging.

Your husband left you.

A train?

I am aware of this, yes. I was unable to provide him with the sons he was promised.

Good. He does. It isn't you. You would have given him sons.

Hindsight, hm?

I..thank you, my lord. I had hoped that I would someday be able to.

And..my daughter? Is she - is she well?
