I do not know what might be done against an elf-lord in his prime, but I wish to keep an eye on the Fëanorian. He is helping the Lady Briseis in her shop.

I know only what legend says of the High Elves. And of Fëanor himself and his seven sons.

What does Mithrandir say of them? Ought we be wary?

Mithrandir speaks of them with sadness and almost awe; the deeds of their days he knows of only second-hand.

You say it is the Fëanorian who works with the Lady? The Lord Maedhros?

Aye, an elf she says, who is beautiful and has hair like fire.

I know stories, but only stories. Legends of the elder days of which Mithrandir has spoken; bits of songs and tales that have survived. But it is long ago, so very long that he lived.

The tales of the First Age are almost completely tales of woe, and his no different. The Fëanorians slew many in their quest for the Silmarils; they are jealous of their honor and their quest.

Is he dangerous to her? To others on this island? I care for few of them, but if we have knowledge of the elves that may prove useless it would be in our best interest to share it when the time comes.

I...it is hard to say.

I do not think that he is. There is no Silmaril here, and those are what drive his madness.

Then let us pay that none come with any. And keep an eye on him no less.

How is your lady love?

Aye, we shall watch him closely.

She is...better than once she was, uncle. But she is not my lady, not to her. She comes from before she even knew my name, and perhaps this time her heart will not turn to me as it did before.

I'm sorry to hear it. perhaps it will not be the case. Have hope, my lord.

There is always hope, uncle.

I know that.
