So um, can somebody help with feeding a newborn? And if anybody lost a baby, please let me know. Gretel's gotten kind of attached and refuses to let her go.

I am new here, but I think you would have the most luck if you asked a woman who has just given birth?

You need a wetnurse, yes?

Something like that, yes.

The child is not yet eating solid food?

She's a newborn. Maybe a couple of days old at most.

Aye, aye, she will need a wetnurse at once, then. My children are grown, I cannot help you in this regard, but perhaps there is someone here who has recently given birth?

There are at least two I think but I don't know if they'd be willing to help.

Well I'm already a feeding machine to two babies, I could take one more if nobody else steps up. Maryanne is still breastfeeding her son I think, maybe she could help?

Where did the baby come from?

She just showed up on our doorstep. Not sure who her mother is. Do you know of any pregnant women that were supposed to be giving birth around now?

As far as I know I'm it. Everyone else is due a few months from now yet.

All I know is we woke up to the baby crying outside our door and she's pretty tiny and looks brand new.

I can't imagine anyone abandoning a baby here. Gretel didn't make a wish or anything did she?

Nope. And neither did I. She just appeared. Gretel is avoiding her because I said I wanted to be the one to take care of her. I named her Mina.

You want to take care of a baby? Unusual for a guy.

The first time I held her I didn't want to let her go.

I'm still breastfeeding Tim. I've got quite a few bottles built up. He'll never be able to drink them all.

I've promised Sherlock and Watson too. But Sherlock isn't due for a while yet, but you're welcome to the stuff I already have built up? I think I'm a milk st

That'd be really helpful, thank you. I'll need some heating instructions and so forth.

It's not hard, you boil water, stick the little bottles in till they're thaw. Then just enough to make the milk warm. To test it you just drip just a little bit on your wrist.

I'll bring it by.

Sounds simple enough.

Thank you.

Easy as pie. If it's too hot on your wrist, just shake it up a bit until it isn't.
