Who: Cassidy and Mac Where / When: The Best Buy, this afternoon. Why: Calm yourself. Cassidy is not stalking her. Random bumping in to each other at the Best Buy. Rating: Mild, some language. WIP
With the possibility that Heather was gonna be his roommate, Cassidy had immediately felt the need to buy more stuff. He recognized that is was purely an 09er response, but hey it was better then blowing shit up. He was contributing to the economic health of Colligo and totally being a good citizen.
Of course the first thing he did was pick up the deluxe Blu-Ray version of Dumb and Dumber, and made a mental note to email Veronica. With Logan's marriage proposal out there and no sign of Veronica lately, Cassidy had to assume she was gone. It was weird to realize he missed Veronica -- he had instilled a certain denial in his relationship with her, purposefully mistaking her watchfulness toward him as concern. It was nice to have a big sister. At least Veronica didn't call him a fag and leave bruises from the constant shoulder punches. He found Dumb and Dumber, and was browsing through the other titles, when he randomly looked up and there was Mac.
She hadn't changed. The streaks in her hair, the focused intelligent look on her face. How had someone like her ever liked him? Cassidy was struck again by the random miracle that she had. He had to take a deep, settling breath, and started to move to the exit before she saw him. There was no mistaking that she didn't want to see him, and Cassidy was terrified that she would think the worst, that he was following her. He had to get out.
Mac was browsing the DVDs in the aisle between him and the exit, and as Cassidy edged around, trying to stay out of sight, he noticed she was browsing TV series box sets. He stopped. She was awfully close to the V section. Shit. She would be PISSED if this was how she found out about the fictional thing. He couldn't just stand there and watch it happen. Gathering his courage, Cassidy took a step toward her. "Um. Uh. Mac."
