Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:castiel, castiel (end!verse), parker

Who: Castiel, Cas, and possibly Parker.
What: Paying himself a visit and laying things out.
Where: Cas' room
When: August 21st; late morning
Rating: High

For purposes of proving his points to Dean and a few of the others, Castiel decided tha tmaking an example of someone would do some good. And who better to use then himself? It seemed like a good decision and also a wise one, considering he didn't think two of them in one place was fufilling a grander purpose that helped or hindered either of them.

So he would rid of his existence - simple as that. It wouldn't be a hard thing to do for the higher being.

He didn't bother to appear at their front door or knock, finding the element of surprise to be a handy one. Instead, Castiel appeared in his alternate self's room with nothing more then a very hushed flutter and a slight upturn of his lips in amusement. He knew much would come of this encounter and almost welcomed it all, wanted people to see what he could do. Maybe even prove that his boundaries weren't as strong as some people seemed to think. No matter what he'd heard and the warnings he'd gotten; fear, he found, was his best ally and would never fail him like humans or angels would.

Cas wanted to throttle Dean, but he knew that it would be an exercise in futility. Nothing he could say was going to keep the other man from going off on his own, even though they all knew it was dangerous and reckless and just plain fucking stupid. He'd have gone with him if he though for a second that Dean would agree, since Dean was the most likely person in their relationship to piss off a power-mad being just by existing, but Parker both needed and wanted him around. So he let Dean go do his thing and tried to focus on something like normality.

He and Parker were spending a good deal of time at the center, keeping busy with work. He knew that Parker would never fully understand his work, since a good portion of it involved giving away money to people, but she liked helping people who really needed it as much as he did, and he knew she had a soft spot for troubled kids. Now though, they were at the apartment, trying to relax and worrying about Dean. It turned out though that Dean was the least of their worries.

When Castiel appeared in the room, Cas was on his feet in an instant putting himself between the god-like being and Parker. He had lost her once, and he had no intention of doing so again. He wished there was some way he could get her out of the apartment, and thus out of danger, but he knew if he tried Castiel was likely to react badly. Still, he could keep the being's focus on him and hope he didn't see her as a threat. He didn't attack, nor did he do anything to show the real honest fear he felt at his other self's presence, but he also didn't back down. "You know," he said dryly, a calmness to his tone that he didn't remotely feel, "it really is polite to call first if you're going to visit. That's just manners, Castiel."

This sucked. Cas' younger self was on some kind of power trip, Crowley had told her to keep her distance because of it, and Dean had taken off to who knew where for who knew how long. Honestly, if it weren't for Cas, Parker wasn't sure what she would do. Yes, she was still close with Eliot and Sophie but it wasn't exactly the same. They didn't get her the way Cas did and, for all that Parker tried to keep people at bay, he was one that had slipped right under her radar. She cared for him. A lot. Possibly even enough to consider finally using the "L word", which was something that she'd been toying with for a while now and was still trying to work up the nerve to actually do.

Today, she thought, might be the time for that. With the things going on in the city it was just a matter of time before something terrible happened and, at least if she was killed this time around, she would know she'd told him what she really wanted to say. In fact, leaning lightly against him and flipping idly through the network on her PDA, she was right in the middle of an internal struggle of whether to just speak what she was feeling or not when everything started to fall apart.

The fluttering was so soft that she barely heard it, certainly didn't have time to register it for what it was, before Cas was on his feet. Baffled as to what was going on in the few seconds it took her to leap to her own feet, one glance over his shoulder told her everything she needed to know. Her stomach clenched, her eyes widened, and all the color seemed to drain from her face.

This was bad. This was very bad. This was the kind of bad that really should have been countered with Cas grabbing her and taking them somewhere else. Anywhere else. Yet... he wasn't. Not sure why but wanting to trust he at least knew what he was doing, Parker didn't say anything. She wanted to demand what Castiel was doing there, wanted to grab Cas and beg him to take her away. But she didn't. She simply stood there, mouth dry and PDA all but forgotten, wishing she'd worked up the nerve to tell Cas how she'd felt and promising herself she would do exactly that if Castiel would just leave as quickly and quietly as he'd arrived.

The sight of the two made the smirk growing on his face get wider. The term mad with power was nothing but correct for the angel and it someone was finally getting to see this first hand. Canting his head to the side in the familiar way, Castiel said, "I didn't think that was necessary. I will not be staying long." He was only there to do one thing. He was set on it, too.

"I've just come to pay you a visit." Saying you, he meant Cas, but Parker was going to play her part in all this as well. Someone would have to see that the higher being meant business and tell the others. almost as if putting on a facade, Castiel changed his attention to Parker for a moment and said, "Hello." He didn't need a second glance to tell that she was apprehensive about his sudden appearance. "Are you well?"

Cas didn't like the expression on his other self's face. It was wrong, arrogant and dangerous and everything he had never been. "Well, that's a shame," he said dryly, though he was deeply unsettled by the words. If he wasn't staying long, that meant he had come here with a purpose, rather than to simply chat. And that purpose couldn't possibly be good. He didn't trust Castiel as far as he could throw him. Nobody should have the power his other self now possessed, and he knew that he wouldn't have been able to cope with it without losing himself completely. The being before him was clearly being ruled by his power, and he would have felt for him if he hadn't wanted him gone as quickly as possible.

"That's very nice of you," he said sarcastically, "but we're really kind of busy." When this 'god' spoke to Parker, his eyes narrowed. "No," he said coldly. "You don't talk to her. You don't look at her. You came here because you have some business with me so get to it. She's not a part of this." That was one thing he wouldn't budge on, because Parker was important to him. "Now, what do you want?"

Not good, not good, not good, not good...

That seemed to be the only words Parker could think, a veritable mantra that she found herself vaguely hoping would prove itself false and that this was nothing more than Cas overreacting to Castiel being weird. Blinking when the younger angel's attention turned to her, she was caught briefly off-guard and, although she heard Cas insist that Castiel wasn't to speak to her, or even look at her, Parker was loathe not to answer. After all, pissing off the guy with the most power in the room was never a smart idea without a plan. And right now the only plan she had was to hopefully not die.

It had yet to even cross her mind that Cas was in any danger. As far as she was concerned, surely Castiel wouldn't kill himself, even if it was a different version of him. What would be the purpose? So she answered the question she'd been asked. Trying to keep her voice from shaking, yet still clearly filled with wariness, she said simply, "I'd be better if I knew why you were here."

She shuffled a bit closer, not to Castiel really but rather to Cas. Standing behind him but off to the side enough to see over his shoulder. Wishing she could help, wanting to promise him that everything would be fine even if they both knew that probably wasn't true. Unable to do any of that, she simply reached out and placed a hand on his arm, squeezing it slightly in a silent show of support no matter what might happen next.

"And who are you to decide who can and can not talk to her?" he asked, a glare in Cas' general direction. "Who are you to decide that for anyone?" Castiel was generally curious about this for a second before going on to say, "Your existence in general is one that could be questioned."

He looked off to the side, focusing his attention on the floor before dim blue eyes focused on his other self again. This was one of the things he'd planned on doing and now... No remorse could be felt in the slightest as he raised his hand, ready to snap at any given moment and looking all too much like his elder brothers who used the same method to kill him in the past.

"So we shall rid of this questionable existance."

Cas just stared at his other self. He knew he was dead, he had no illusions of otherwise. He could try to leave, but it wouldn't do any good. All that would accomplish was putting Parker in more danger than she was in already. There was every chance Castiel just wanted to get rid of him, that nothing would happen to her, and he wouldn't risk her if he didn't have to. Perhaps it was selfish, and it was certainly unfair, but he knew there was nowhere he could go that Castiel wouldn't find them. At least this way he could have some hope that she would survive.

He'd faced death once, knowing he was going to die and unafraid. This time though, he had things to live for. He had people he didn't want to leave. If it hadn't been for the thoughts he'd just had, he would have tried his damnedest to get away. But the fact was he did have people to live for. And because of that, he was willing to die to keep them safe.

"Parker," he said, far too calm, focusing on her instead of Castiel, "you should know that I..." He trailed off. He couldn't say it now. But maybe it was the only time he could say it. "I...you know." Or maybe he couldn't. He hated leaving it unsaid, but he didn't want her associating that sentiment with his death.

No. This couldn't be happening. Parker couldn't believe what she was seeing, what Castiel was saying, what he was about to do. She immediately stepped closer to Cas, her mind scrambling for a way to talk the other angel out of going through with this.

"No!" she all but shrieked. "You can't... please!" Her hand slid down to Cas', grasping it tightly. "Don't say it," she all but begged, voice wavering as her vision became blurred with tears. "Don't say it because you're going to be fine, Cas. You will. This is just-"

And she stopped, knowing she was babbling and that there was no stopping what was going to come. So much time she'd spent convinced she was the one who was going to leave him and this was how it was going to end. Because couldn't come back, could he? Not until someone killed Castiel, at least, and how did you kill a being as powerful as God? It was impossible. It couldn't be done. Which meant Cas wasn't coming back. Not now, not ever. This was it.

"Me too," she sighed softly, doing her best to keep the tears from falling. "I... you know... too."

Their little exchange had to effect on Castiel as it probably should. The thought of not following through hadn't even crossed his mind. He saw no reason not to and thought all this to be right.

Fingers snapped without waiting for them to move away from one another and the sight was a gruesome one. Cas exploded quickly, much like a water balloon, with bits and pieces and blood splattering the room. Castiel seemed to be unphased by this and looked pleased with this sight.

He studied Parker with a headtilt, not about to clean up the mess he made. He thought of it as her own small punishment for housing his other self. Let her clean the debris. "And now things are set right." The smirk was wiped clean from his face and without another another word uttered, he disappeared.
