The fear demon was finally gone. It was about damn time. The lack of sleep, trying to avoid the nightmares of one of the worst (but not the worst) moments of his life had left him exhausted and in a worse mood than usual, taking it out on anyone who happened to hit the right chord. Once it was gone, sleep was easier to come by, but still not as easy to keep around as it had been. At least not until the images faded back to memories to be shoved aside.
Lindsey drew a hand through his hair as he wandered through the apartment, locating the paper with all the potential employment opportunities circled in whatever color had been handy. But before he started hitting them up, he needed coffee. A big cup of coffee, freshly made and full of caffeine. Keys in hand, he left the apartment, barely stifling a yawn as he locked behind him.
It was when he turned that he got enough of an adrenaline jolt to further wake him up. He'd almost slammed into someone and the step to the side had made it a very narrow miss. "Sorry," he apologized before he got a good look at the woman's face. There was something familiar about her.
