Finnerty stretched her arms out, scales hidden underneath costuming and wraps. Tips of fins protruded out from the cloth about her forearm. The longer she worked with the Cirque the easier understanding the booth came to be. While the idea of being another spectacle had never sat right with her, at least the dunk tank did not leave her to the leering the 'mermaids' at the Lagoon received. The cool humidity of the large castle ballroom clung to her skin much to her joy. The dim amber lights of the Cirque hid her natural luminesce but in the shadows behind her tank spots glowed from underneath her costume. Bending down to tend to the mechanisms of her tank, she froze. She could feel the change in the electromagnetic field around her as a drunk human male approached her. "Just the siren I was looking for-" His words slurred as he stumbled forward. "I'm not a siren..." She answered confused by the statement and not understanding human metaphor. "Oh but your cute little laugh drew me in like one." Castles tended to draw tourists to their doors, Americans loving the idea of the structures they never saw on their own lands, but it was such persons that had little respect for their surroundings or the people in them- thinking everyone was there to serve them. "Sir, the Cirque is closing. You need to leave." The man stumbled forward again falling into Finnerty and using that force to push her against her tank. Dark brows furrowed at the gesture. He smiled, eyes half open and alcohol on his breath that reminded her of her captor. His hand slid down the curve of her lower back around the cheeks and attempted to move between her legs. "Your family won't miss you," she whispered as she grabbed his hand, breaking the wrist in her movement and grabbing his throat as slim excreted from the pores in her palms. The man's eyes bulged in shock. His scream shortened as the paralyzing toxin took hold and he fell to the ground. Finnerty stepped backwards, looking around in hopes one of security might be around to help. |
