So... show me around?
Who: Reno and Maria
When: The day after the zombies disappeared
Where: Emptiness
Rating: PG, probably
Warnings: Language, maybe.
Summary: Maria is giving Reno a tour of the town.
After setting a time and place for meeting up with Maria, Reno found the kitchen in Niflheim and quickly stuffed himself with various food items from the pantries, which were indeed, as Yako had put it, huge. Later, he might spend a while just exploring the kitchen and the areas around it, but for the moment he had a time limit. He paused as he discovered the location the alcohol someone had directed him toward before, and briefly eyed a particular bottle, but decided against it. It was morning, he did still have a time limit, and for now it really just felt good to eat something. He hadn't really since he'd gotten here, too distracted by the zombies, and now he was realizing just how long that had actually been.
Sufficiently full, he made his way out to the town, where he was supposed to meet Maria. It was a bit disconcerting, how deserted it was. He hadn't been in Emptiness yet, and now he knew why it held that name. He had sort of expected a town to have people, but apparently everyone here lived on their side, and not in between. At the same time, it seemed like there were people living there, just not at that moment. It was little things that gave that impression, like the trash cans he passed generally had trash in them. But then, people from both sides probably wandered around through there on a regular basis, so that probably wasn't as weird as it seemed.
It still seemed pretty weird, though.
It didn't take him too long to find what he thought fit the general description of "middle of town," though he wished Maria had given him something a little more specific to look for. After all, he would rather make a good first impression, and that probably wouldn't go so well if she had to come looking for him. He didn't see any signs of her yet, but that wasn't too concerning--he hadn't been paying too terribly strict attention to the time, so he might be early. Admittedly, he also might be a little late, but probably not enough that she would have left already.
He picked a wall and leaned against it while he waited, grateful for the promise of some company. It was nice to meet someone he seemed to sort of click with, even if it was someone on the other side.
