Reno followed, notably less bothered by the temperature. Cold didn't really get to him, nor did heat. When you grow up in a slum where nobody can really afford much in the way of heating or air conditioning, you kind of get used to it.
He had to wonder about the "back home" comment. "Empty town" was not a word to describe Midgar, above or below. And he couldn't think of anywhere he had ever been that was as empty as Emptiness.
Again, appropriate name.
"Back home for me is full of people," he said. "Sometimes it's hard to get away from 'em." Even now, he shared an apartment with Rude. He was comfortable that way, with people around. Being here freaked him out just a little in that regard-- a room to himself, and then a city with nobody in it. He was silent for a moment, then spoke again.
"Dance halls, huh?" That one especially seemed odd with no people, but then she had said that was what she liked about it. "You like dancing by yourself, then?" His voice held a mild joking quality as he glanced at her, one eyebrow raised.
