Some Other Beginning's End
Who: Sydonai and Dorian
Where: Emptiness, Syd's Shop of Wonders
When: Mid-December, Day after Dorian and Eileen go to Emptiness
Rating: PG
Warnings: None at the moment
Summary: Determined to make the best Christmas cards ever, Dorian ventures back to Emptiness to visit the craft shops. He finds Syd's shop at the intersection of Birch Street and Merchant Way and decides to speak with her about her wares. Curiosity ensues.
Dorian was naturally very uncomfortable with being out by himself, which was why he'd never visited Emptiness before his trip with Eileen. The farthest he'd traveled from Asgard was to the Twilight Meadows, and that was before he knew of all the dangers that awaited him and his comrades. But going to Emptiness with Eileen had opened his eyes to a new realm of possibilities. Surely, he would never be comfortable going there, but with Quigby mapping out the city so that they knew it by heart, he'd at least be well-prepared.
In his marble form and dressed in dark green winter gear, Dorian sauntered around Emptiness, liking the snow, but glad it had stopped. Now the sun was out and melting it all, making it easier to walk about town. He stopped at several of the craft shops, getting little things like glitter and glue and stickers. Having rarely been out on his own, he was absolutely having the best time, and surprisingly so.
When he was finished, he decided he was bold enough to keep exploring Emptiness, and thus he found himself at the intersection of Birch Street and Merchant Way, reading the sign of the brick shop before him. Realizing this was the shop of Sydonai, he wondered if he should go inside. He didn't know much about her, but he did know she was mean only to the people who were mean first. And Dorian knew he certainly wasn't mean. So maybe they could get along!
Confidence renewed, he walked up to the shop and opened the door, gazing around for any sign of life.
