Entrance Post - OTA
The Torchwood Hub was silent. Ianto tidied up his desk for the tenth time and looked around, searching for something. It was late and he had to go home soon, but he wanted to delay it for as long as possible. Whenever he was home alone he couldn't stop thinking about Tosh and Owen. It's been a week since they died.
In the Hub Ianto always found something to distract himself with. there was always work to be done. But at home he felt utterly alone, and he would remember the faded black and white photographs of the people who used to work in Torchwood. Ianto used to think about the way all of them died young.
He knew it was the job, that it took you life and it gave you something so much more in return.
It gave you a chance to see things that no-one has seen before, opportunities to save the world... This job was life. It left no space for anything else.
Ianto shook his head, as if trying to empty it of the gloomy thoughts.
It was time to go home.
Ianto was getting his coat when he saw a puzzle lying on the floor. He picked it up, wondering who it belonged to. It certainly didn't look like something Jack would play with in his spare time.
Ianto began solving the puzzle, the pieces sliding together easily. He had the puzzle figured out in a couple of minutes and soon the last piece clicked into place.
There was a flash of green light, so bright Ianto closed his eyes. He idly wondered if he managed to activate some alien device.
When Ianto's eyes could see again, he was no longer in Torchwood.
A breeze tickled his hair. He was standing on a lawn in front of a huge country hotel.
