PLOT #2
Greed. That's what this plot is about. We're going to leave it up to you as to exactly how it will affect your character(s). Maybe they've taken to crawling around the main lot in search of lost change. Or in a similar vein, maybe they're being a bit rough in their operation of the ferris wheel so that people do lose their change. Or maybe they're just picking people's pockets. It doesn't have to extend to cash though. They could start hoarding breakfast or decide that the entire tent they're in now belongs to them alone. Even the most generous of characters may find themselves sneaking into people's tents and stealing their hats. As a whole, though, the entire carnival is going to get progressively greedier. No patrons will win prizes and they'll have things peddled at them left, right and centre. The carnival will even spend its day off (your character doesn't have to ;) setting up for their 'fireball show'. Dusting off Frog Boy and Spiderella and sticking a couple of fake legs on that cow they took from Bathsheba. These types of shows are only really meant for a night or two though, as they leave a bad taste. Carnaval de la Lumière will be staying until things culminate in event number two...being run out of town. They'll come to their senses when that happens and leave (mostly) peacefully though. NOTE: Please remember to run things that will impact directly on other characters by their players first. Start Date: Wednesday October 2nd End Date: Saturday October 12th |
I drink your milkshake? I DRINK IT UP! Will all characters be affected by the greed? No, it’s up to you whether or not your character is affected. If they are, will they be affected for the entire ten days? They can, but also don’t have to be. How obsessive will they become? The longer they’re affected, the more obsessive they’ll become. They’re not going to kill each other, but we certainly don’t want to deny anyone the opportunity for fisticuffs. That said, if a character is called out on their greed, we feel that might be a good opportunity for their true colours to shine through. (Though whether that colour is defensive or guilty or I’ll bide my time and rip you off/steal your stuff later, is up to you and them. ;) They can certainly have a moment of confusion/what am I doing? ..but the greed will likely seep back in (unless you’d like their run greed run to end, of course, in which case that’s probably not a bad way to do it). I noticed the World Series was this fortnight - what a good idea for gambling greed! *cough*hint*cough* Is it okay if my character becomes greedy/obsessed with/over _____? If you have an idea you’re not too sure will fly, please do discuss it with us first - we don’t bite! What do you mean by ‘fireball show’? It’s a show designed to rip people off at every opportunity with gaffed games, cheap tricks and attractions, and very little moral compass. Basically the show blazes through and leaves destruction in its wake in that the community isn’t likely to want to welcome another carnival any time soon. It’s certainly not designed for an elongated stay as people wise up pretty quickly to their being ripped off. I have more questions... Please do ask them - in the comments is fine! This was the only version of this I could find on youtube. Sorry for the coughing and only check it out on youtube if you like spiders... |
