Hey, look at me, pimpin' my mod hat! Ah, don't worry - it won't last :-D I'm just helping out by going through and tagging all of the existing posts for [info]odogoddess. One of her requests was to add kinks to the tags. Since this is your community, I want to know - what do you consider a kink, and what is a warning? I ask, because generally they are bunched together in one category, and some authors even choose to hide them for those that hate spoilers. Thus, I don't want to tag things that shouldn't be tagged!

I realize this is very subjective. Some people may want main character death tagged and others just don't want to know ahead of time. So I'm thinking more in the realm of sexual pleasure: cross-dressing, chan, sex toys... but then you get into things like dub-con... to some people that's a kink - to others it's a warning!

Help out my poor tired brain. What kind of things do you want tagged, and what don't you want to see in a tag?

One is that holiday season is upon us and the exchanges have begun! Yay!

So if you see any hot bottom!Snape among the offerings, please do rec them here so the rest of us can have a gander. We don't all read the exact same fests and exchanges so it can be helpful pointing them out, even if you think everyone already knows about it.


Two is that some of you wish to join the community, but have not provided your date of birth as is required. Hence you can friend and see posts like this one, but none of the flocked entries. In reverse, some of you are filling out the poll, but not friending the community. You need to do both if you want to see the posts. Just fyi.

[info]cluegirl had a perfectly evil idea asking people to list the ten fics they'd save if there was a calamity.

Okay, I put it to you bottom!Snape fans -- what ten bottom!Snape fics would you save?

Reply to this post with links, if available, and the author and pairing. Oh, and assume your own fics are safely stored in a vault, so you must save others' fics. Ten only. Comments will be screened until Friday, 12 Oct. Yes, it's evil... but it's fun. ;)

Addendum/Revision: Since less than a handful of entries have been posted, comments will remain screened until Monday, 15 Oct., to give more people a chance to participate.

As a result of the current kerfluffle with LJ/6A, we are returning to Moderated Membership, for the time being. New members will be approved on submission of an age statement. You must be at least 18 years of age to belong to this community.

Also for the time being, please lj-cut and friends-lock any posts of "questionable" content.

We're looking into mirroring this community over on GreatestJournal and/or InsaneJournal, so if you have journals at either or both of those sites, please feel free to request membership to the corresponding comms.

Since it appears the Book 7 spoiler troll brigade has started work early, we've stepped up our timetable for spoiler lockdown.

No new members will be approved to join the community until the end of July. I apologise to the good folk who are waiting for approval, but please bear with us; we're trying to keep this community fun for everyone - except the trolls. *rg*

Since some early warnings of spoiler trolls have been going around, we'd like to announce the spoiler policy for bottomsnape.

1. Please post anything that might be considered a spoiler for Book 7 behind an LJ cut.

2. In order to avoid trolls, two days before the release of DH, we will be putting the community on moderated posting status. This will continue until at least two days after the US release date.

3. After we give the go-ahead, discussion of spoilers is acceptable here, as long as they are behind a cut and locked to the community.

4. Please avoid spoilery posting headers and cut-text.

For a first exchange, we've had pretty good luck. Only two drop outs, with pinch-hitters in place and all systems go. Pinch-hitters are getting the gifts the drop outs would have gotten, so it's all good.

Soon I'll be posting our first fic. There will be a new fic posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, just in case anyone needs a reminder. In between days, you bottomsnape fans are expected to provide feedback. Remember, fanfic authors don't receive anything else for their efforts. So even if all you have to say is "Neat idea!" or "Hot!, it's appreciated.

That said - let's get the fanfic flowing!

I don't know about our other entrants aside from those who have turned in their wonderful entries so far, but my own fic is not quite ready. :-/

I'm sure some of you are in the same boat. Moreover, the Exchange fics aren't going to start posting until May 14th. So... I'm extending the Fantasy Fest two more weeks so those of us whose muses are reluctant and/or have too much RL to deal with can work on them and post between now and then, and the rest can enjoy a few more new fics between now and when the Exchange posts begin.

That said, let's keep those keyboards smoking! :)
