Summary: Cass doesn't feel too well, but instead of resting he goes to see Higgs
His head was absolutely pounding when he woke up. A dull ache spreading throughout his head, down his shoulders – a sharp one stabbing at his temples as light hit his eyes. He groaned, rolling over in bed and trying to hide from the light. Only it didn't help. Moving had his entire body protesting with waives of nausea.
Merlin's fuck! How could he feel this bad? He hadn't even had that much to drink yesterday. Only he had. Or at least he thought so. It sure as hell felt like it.
Finally stumbling up, he made it to the bathroom (a small miracle ensured that he did it without even throwing up), and he rummaged through the cabinet, sinking down onto the toilet as he found the hangover potion and swallowed it down. His stomach protested loudly, but settled, after a while. It was enough for him to be able to stumble into the shower as the head ache died down.
Only it didn't.
By the time he left the shower his head was still pounding with a dull ache, and he swallowed down yet another hangover potion – and a head ache potion – even before eating breakfast.
By the time he'd finished eating breakfast he was annoyed at the fact that neither potion seemed to do a damn thing about the head ache, and a part of him wanted nothing more than to go back to bed and pity himself. Only he knew himself too well. Two minutes in bed and he'd be ready to hex someone. So instead he made the decision to ignore the head ache and do something instead. See someone.
Higgs perhaps? Yes, Higgs would do. He could ask why he wasn't at the opening yesterday – and slip in a question or two about the black market at the same time. Even if they weren't going to do something about it, his curiosity was still there. He wanted to know, if only for himself, who'd sold Rosmerta those potions, and not knowing bugged him endlessly.
Seriously when did he become a Ravenclaw? Wasn't it enough that Percy had had reasons to call him both Puff and Gryff lately?
He shook it off (well figuratively, his head wasn't shaking in any direction if he could help it) as he got dressed, and by the time he grabbed his broom and flew over to Harmonia Street he'd decided to forget it. Instead he walked up to the house and knocked, waiting for an answer.
