Summary: Pansy drops by to visit poor, bored, invalid Cass. Cass has some news he's been avoiding telling her because he knows it will change their relationship. Not that Cass knows everything, he just thinks he does.
Pansy should have been to see Cass before now. She knew it, and she knew Cass knew it. She felt terrible, but there'd been Ella, and then Polly had been clingy because she wasn't used to sharing Pansy and Harry's attention. Then Polly's sniffles had turned into an ear infection, and everyone had been miserable during that!
And, of course, Pansy was also worried about Millicent and hadn't had time to do anything about it, yet, either.
Everything had all conspired against her plans to visit Cass. She just hoped he understood. If the roles had been reversed, she'd have been in a snit over the absence, she knew. She was hoping that, Cass being a boy and all, he might not be quite so upset about it.
Finally, though, she'd found some time and Harry had been able to distract the girls (i.e. the clingy Polly) enough so she could leave the house without her daughter noticing. So she was on her way to Percy's house. It wasn't a long walk...just down Cicero Lane to Agrippa Circuit and then a bit down that way. It only took about ten minutes to get there, once she started on her way.
At Percy's door, she wondered about how to get in. She didn't know if Cass was able to get to the door or if he should even try. She should have contacted Percy to find out the best way to visit, but now it was too late. She stood staring at the door for a long time, chewing on her lip.
Finally, she had a sudden inspiration. She hadn't actually used it before, but Harry had been working with her some. She was surprised at how good of a teacher he was, actually. Even in their situation. Of course, all he had to do was mention how it could be used to protect Polly and any and all complaints (or whining) went out the window. So she'd been practicing the use of her patronus to send a message. And it could get into Cass's house to let him know she was there. Maybe he knew how to send his back to let her know how to get in.
Pansy didn't have to think too hard about a memory happy and strong enough to create the patronus....she had many to choose from, all involving Harry and Polly and she together as a family. Within seconds, her patronus was winging its way into the house.
She just hoped the tiny silver butterfly got Cass's attention. It was a little....unremarkable.
