Summary: Miles almost forgot that he invited Cass over to talk to Lettie, and has to make sure to Auror-proof his home.
Sunday morning Miles woke with a start. He suddenly realised in a fit of blind panic that he had not only invited Cass over to his home, but he had invited an auror into his house.
Fuck.
He'd completely forgotten (well, not quite) about the person he had in the basement, and the ever-present task he was supposed to be performing for Rodolphus. Not to mention what Bellatrix wanted. Did it never end? So much work. That and the brooms he had to make - it seemed all he ever had to do was work. All he wanted to do right now was just get a woman in his bed and keep her there all weekend.
He woke every morning with the hope that Lettie might remember, and crawl into his bed and wake him the way she knew he liked, but so far he had to constantly remind her who he was, and where she was. It wasn't tiring, it was worrying. Getting the guy who did this to her wasn't going to bring her memories back, but it would at least be something.
Which was why he spent the morning making sure that his 'guest' in the dungeons was fed, watered and keeping very quiet. Miles would deal with him later in the week. But now he had Lettie and Cass to worry about. That and the fact his son was being dragged along to see undesirables.
How the hell did Montague think it was okay for Liam to go horse riding at Nott's house? Fuck! All Miles had heard since Liam came back from the sleepover was uncle Theo this and uncle Theo that. As if he didn't have enough problems to deal with, now his best mate was corrupting his son. He was glad he made Draco the boy's godfather. Miles had spent hours trying to undo Nott's influence, and he was surprised that for once, Romilda's ghost was very quiet on the subject. Fuck.
But right now, he was expecting an auror. And he had no idea right now just what Lettie remembered today, or how much he was going to have to explain to her. Merlin, this was very stressful. Why didn't Bellatrix just summon him away and crucio him? That would at least give him a reason for such a headache. He downed a potion as he sat in the drawing room, waiting for his guest to arrive. He'd make sure Cass didn't think to take any detours around the Manor.
