Summary: Rodolphus wants to rid the world of the Filth that dares to think it can desecrate the most magical of sacred sites.
Rodolphus ensured Bellatrix portkeyed to the copse close to Stonehenge. It was a fair walk to the ancient magical monument, and already the stench of the Muggles and their automobiles assaulted his nose.
There was the sound of music playing somewhere as Rodolphus brought Bellatrix closer to their quarry. Revellers. Muggles with not an ounce of magical blood in their veins were setting up in tents around the monument, the restrictions to access relaxed for this one day. He'd not had a premonition about this battle, but with his last couple of premonitions being misinterpreted, he could only say that no premonition was better than one.
If Rodolphus had his way, Stonehenge should have been made invisible to the Muggles - they were not worthy to even lay their eyes upon it. Yet now they build their roads almost right at its door, and here they trample around it, somewhat aware of its significance, but not having an inkling of the true power of this site. When this mess was over and cleaned up, he'd imbue himself, and his wife and heirs with the innate magic that rose from the earth, the magic that tapped into the other magical sites through the ley lines that connected them. The power of earth magic would be theirs to wield.
He allowed them to mingle for a while, already feeling the building sense of anticipation that was in the crowd. He laughed, wondering if the Muggles truly understood that something magical was really going to seal their fate.
They closed in on the centre stones, seeing the Muggle police vans keeping the crowds in control. He recognised magic, sensing wards, and suspecting that some of these police officers were actually the aurors sent to protect them. As he met up with the other Death Eaters summoned, they outlined what they wanted them to do once the sun broke over the horizon.
As the crowd's high or drunken anticipation left them eager for the sun as they looked to the east, Rodolphus and his wife struck.
It seemed all too easy at first, the first few Muggles just falling when he unleashed a killing curse on an unsuspecting couple. Another dared to turn around, but a moment later, Rodolphus had his dreadlocks around his neck, strangling him slowly as he levitated him from the ground. He hung himself on his hair, his body raised high enough for anyone to see.
Another Muggle joined him mid-air - one Rodolphus couldn't help but notice had been constantly eating, and seemed to be far too obese to even put one foot in front of the other. "Here, let me help you." With a whirring motion of his wand, he watched as the Muggle began to blow up larger than a balloon, their skin stretching taut. Tighter and tighter it went as he bloated out of proportions, his voice unable to unleash a scream. He was now floating above the crowd like a grotesque mockery of a balloon.
Unable to take any more, the man screamed as his skin tore and exploded. the explosion of skin, blood, fat and body fluids was vile and disgusting to the crowd, sending them into panic. Rodolphus was pleased as he looked to his wife, who seemed to be already taking out her own pleasure on some of the crowd.
Perhaps he'd leave one or two victims to sacrifice on the altar - virgins would be best. If only these Muggles truly knew what went on in this site in ancient times, then perhaps they might have stayed far, far away.
Morning had broken, the sun barely breaking through the cloudy sky, Rodolphus could already smell the stench of the Muggle flesh. But dead Muggles were better than alive ones any day, and even as he saw some of the 'policemen' pull out wands and begin to cast their own spells to protect, he went on the offensive. Perhaps he could get them to kill a few Muggles in the crossfire. That would worry and give them plenty to agonise over.
It was going to be a momentous day.
