Prompt Post
Prompt post is now LOCKED- save those brilliant notions for the next go-round!

Okay, you crazy kids, it's time for the Between Seasons Fic-Fest: Olympic Edition!

Despite the title, it's not actually about the Olympics, but instead, something to keep those WNBA juices flowing during the Olympic break. This here is the declaration of Month #1 1st, which means it's time to prompt.

Leaving a prompt isn't equal to making a writing commitment. You don't even have to be a member of the community to leave a prompt- you don't even have to be a member of InsaneJournal, or any journal at all. On the other hand, if you provide a prompt, that doesn’t mean that prompt is going to be written. Leave as many as you want- and if you leave some and think of more later, just leave another comment.

Prompts can be anything from a single word to a song lyric or a scenario. They can be general, specific to a team, specific to a pairing, or specific to a player or group of players. They can also be fixed in time, so long as the time you're asking for matches up with the WNBA career/existence of the folks you're asking about. (In other words, if your Bird/Taurasi fic takes place at Storrs, there better be an alumnae event going on- and Taurasi better be included among the alumnae.) Draft picks and undrafted free agents who come to camp but don't make the team are also welcome.

AU scenarios are more than welcome, whether they're zany, out-there AUs (band, IN SPACE!, end of the world, etc.) or what-if AUs (T-Spoon never went to LA, Katie Douglas forced the Fever trade a year earlier, etc.). The only AU premise that is not on is one that puts a player on a team she's never been on.

Crossovers with other sports- please don't request a crossover pairing or prompt, but if something a little more general strikes your fancy, then writing crossovers is okay, so long as anyone involved is out of college.

A few samples for your reading pleasure- and yep, these count as prompts too:

but you won't hear from the messenger/don't wanna know bout something that you don't understand/you got no fear of the underdog/that's why you will not survive!

Essence Carson/Ashley Battle- burning hot, burning cold

Connecticut Sun- so how different is Mike Thibault from Geno Auriemma, anyway?

New York Liberty, 1999-2002- general wacky hijinks

Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson- "The girls keep throwing themselves at us."

Band AU!

Laurie Koehn- one/won

It should be mentioned, and more than in passing, that our lovely banner is courtesy of [info]thegeneral. It's saved to my Photobucket account, so if you're festing and proud, feel free to show it off.
