Yes, I have been epic fail in paying attention to this. Too busy picking shirts off the fan blades.

If you've got ideas, this is the place to put them. Please be assured that it is not the infamous circular file; suggestions will be read and considered.

    And that's all, folks
Okay, guys, sorry for the delay, but Month #3 is officially over. Posting for the Olympic Edition of Between Seasons is done, finito, ended. I'll whip up a list of the… four, was it?… fics that were written for this edition, and then we'll have a suggestion box.

Disclaimer: Not mine. Not real. No harm meant. Please don't sue.

And if Diana's smiling- well, does Diana ever not smile? )

    Silly hats!

Guess what, guys? It's August 1st! We are now officially in Month #3!

Since a grand total of two people commented to claim, I'm going to say that the claim system is hereby thrown out the window for this edition, and probably all future editions. G'wan with your creative selves.

Just as a reminder, if you're not on IJ, don't let that keep you from being inspired! Either post it somewhere else and leave a comment on this entry, or e-mail your friendly neighborhood mod and she'll post it under your name. The more, the merrier!

Posts are moderated, but I check the queue at least once a day. Have no fear- the world will see your writing nearly as soon as you post.

So get writing. And don't forget your silly hat.

    Claim Post, Olympic Edition
All right, guys, Month #1 is over, and today is the first day of Month #2! The master list of prompts is below.

What we’ll be doing is a modified claim system similar to what a lot of the table communities use to strike a balance between spreading out prompts and stifling creativity. Any prompt can be claimed by multiple people- but for the first three weeks of Month #3, the fics can only be posted in the order the writers staked their claim to the prompt.

So comment below with the prompt or prompts that have fired your fancy and intrigued your imagination, and your dibs will be appropriately called. Please note that from the 2nd to the 7th, your friendly neighborhood mod will be in a slightly different neighborhood than usual, working on Pacific time instead of Eastern.

    Prompt Post
Prompt post is now LOCKED- save those brilliant notions for the next go-round!

Okay, you crazy kids, it's time for the Between Seasons Fic-Fest: Olympic Edition!

Despite the title, it's not actually about the Olympics, but instead, something to keep those WNBA juices flowing during the Olympic break. This here is the declaration of Month #1 1st, which means it's time to prompt.

Leaving a prompt isn't equal to making a writing commitment. You don't even have to be a member of the community to leave a prompt- you don't even have to be a member of InsaneJournal, or any journal at all. On the other hand, if you provide a prompt, that doesn’t mean that prompt is going to be written. Leave as many as you want- and if you leave some and think of more later, just leave another comment.

Prompts can be anything from a single word to a song lyric or a scenario. They can be general, specific to a team, specific to a pairing, or specific to a player or group of players. They can also be fixed in time, so long as the time you're asking for matches up with the WNBA career/existence of the folks you're asking about. (In other words, if your Bird/Taurasi fic takes place at Storrs, there better be an alumnae event going on- and Taurasi better be included among the alumnae.) Draft picks and undrafted free agents who come to camp but don't make the team are also welcome.

AU scenarios are more than welcome, whether they're zany, out-there AUs (band, IN SPACE!, end of the world, etc.) or what-if AUs (T-Spoon never went to LA, Katie Douglas forced the Fever trade a year earlier, etc.). The only AU premise that is not on is one that puts a player on a team she's never been on.

Crossovers with other sports- please don't request a crossover pairing or prompt, but if something a little more general strikes your fancy, then writing crossovers is okay, so long as anyone involved is out of college.

A few samples for your reading pleasure- and yep, these count as prompts too:

but you won't hear from the messenger/don't wanna know bout something that you don't understand/you got no fear of the underdog/that's why you will not survive!

Essence Carson/Ashley Battle- burning hot, burning cold

Connecticut Sun- so how different is Mike Thibault from Geno Auriemma, anyway?

New York Liberty, 1999-2002- general wacky hijinks

Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson- "The girls keep throwing themselves at us."

    Band AU!

    Laurie Koehn- one/won
