Who: Daisy and Cole What: A meeting and a mail rescue. Where: The lobby When: Today, mid-morning ish. Warnings: None. Hah.
Cole didn't want to get up. He was perfectly content staying in bed all day - today was the last of his vacation days, and even then he was pushing it, considering he was new - and he had to catch up on the work his class had been doing. Still, he felt emotionally drained and physically tired. Sightseeing with Ileana had helped, but eventually he'd had to return to the building and face reality once more. He'd been fleetingly disappointed that she was so young, but managed to shrug it off. It didn't matter. Compared to other things, nothing really did.
But the stupid cat - which he still didn't have a name for - had decided to come out from her hiding spot and wouldn't stop meowing until he dragged himself out of bed and gave her some food. Even as he glared at the furry creature she purred contentedly, and he realized how difficult it was to stay mad at animals.
At some point through his second cup of coffee he realized he hadn't checked his mail in a while. Damn it. He grabbed a quick shower and threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, nearly forgetting his shoes as he grabbed the mailbox key and headed out. Avoiding the elevator, he made his way down the stairs and towards the row of mailboxes in the lobby. Finding his, he stuck the key in the slot and turned, scowling slightly when it resisted. "Oh, honestly, just open." It finally yielded, and he busied himself with inspecting his mail and groaning at the ones that meant he owed money. Perfect.
