"Jack," Ianto came into Jack's office, "Save what you're working on."
It had been a quiet day in a quiet week. Gwen and Owen were gone, Tosh was still at her computer.
Ianto seemed, frankly, antsy, Jack's great coat in his arms.
He looked up when Ianto came in, took in his demeanor and that he was holding the coat. He hit save on the computer, shut the file and put it in his desk, stood up and held out his hands for the coat.
Ianto helped him put it on, grabbed his own, and headed out, waving at Tosh.
He nodded and waved to Tosh on his way through, still flipping his collar into place. "Where are we going?"
"To my house," Ianto slid his hand into Jack's and led the way to his car. He was still antsy.
He squeezed Ianto's hand, and kept walking.
"Nothing," he smiled, a bit careful, "Are you okay with that?"
"I'm fine with that. I'd be better if you didn't seem like you were going to come out of your skin." He got into Ianto's car, sweeping his coat carefully in with him so when he shut the door it didn't get caught.
"I'm not," Ianto looked cranky for the short drive to his house.
It was small and had a white picket fence and flowers growing in the front. He went to unlock the front door. There was soft music playing and dinner apparently just finishing cooking.
Jack looked frankly skeptical, but he kept his mouth shut as he got out of the car and followed Ianto in.
"...What's going on?"
"I'm seducing you," he said a trifle impatiently, "Will you take your coat off and work with me a bit, sir?"
"Oh, I see." He looked enlightened, and took his coat off. He was trying very hard not to smile.
"Thank you." He hung up Jack's coat, then carefully backed him into the door and kissed him, slowly and with intent.
Jack put his hand on the small of Ianto's back, fingers splayed wide. His thumb stroked right along his spine as he returned the kiss, open and warm and with a hint of laughter that quickly faded into a groan.
Ianto held Jack's hip with one hand, the other curled around Jack's neck as he took the kiss, pressing and slick and deep fast.
He trusted Ianto (and the door) to hold him up. His fingers curled against Ianto's back, and he nipped lightly at Ianto's lip. Warmth flaring to heat that was enough to make him hard, hot and breathless.
Ianto smiled into the kiss, breaking it slowly when he felt Jack's erection, hard and hot against his hip.
He growled softly in protest when Ianto broke the kiss. "Consider me seduced."
"Dinner then?" he asked, pulling away.
He groaned and let his head thump back against the wall, his eyes closed. "Dinner's fine."
It was going to be, he suspected, a long freaking meal.
Ianto smiled sweetly and went to get it finished, "Make yourself at home."
"So, go jerk off in your shower?" He called after Ianto.
Then he wandered around the living room, and generally poked around a bit.
"If it would make you happy," Ianto called back.
Ianto's house was fairly bare. If Jack poked enough the reason was obvious. There were packed boxes under tables, and stacked in closets.
He found boxes in a closet, and then wandered into the kitchen. "How long have you lived here?"
"Two years." Ianto handed Jack a glass of water.
He took the water and drained it, then set the empty glass on the counter. "Packing to move?"
"Yes," he filled it up again, then took a roast out of the oven.
He cocked his hip to lean against the counter, wrapped his fingers around the glass, but left it on the counter and just watched Ianto. "I think I know how we need to do this," he said after a moment.
"Tell me," Ianto got out a serving platter.
There was another pause - a fairly long one.
"You were right."
"What do you mean?"
"The best chance for the fetus to survive is to wait until it's obviously time for it to come out, ride it out as long as I possibly can, and then have you cut it out."
There was a whole line of logic in there.
He held his hand out for Jack's.
"You need to feed me." He picked up his glass and drank his water.
"Yes," Ianto took his hand back, put the food on a platter, and brought it to the table.
Jack filled a second glass for Ianto, found silverware and worked with him to set the table.
He stopped in the process of putting a fork on the table and looked up at Ianto. "Are you?"
"What's scaring you?"
"Killing you, Jack."
"I'll handle it. Just be ready to take the baby and leave."
"Run?" he asked, pushing slightly.
"I don't think there's a lot of contest between watching me die from shock and you taking care of the kid you want, and that's going to need you. So sure, call it running or call it having priorities. Just be ready to do it."
God he was tired.
"Or wait and take care of both of you."
"I'm not telling you to leave the country, or even the house, but there's not going to be a lot you can do for me and anyway, it might psychologically scar the thing."
"I doubt the baby'll remember."
"But you will," he said softly.
"I'll remember leaving you and that'll be worse, sir."
He sighed and closed his eyes. "It's your decision. Let's eat."
He carefully carved, face blank as he served first Jack, then himself.
He took his plate. "I'm going to miss you," he said, simply.
Then he ate.
"I'm going to miss you too, Jack," Ianto said softly, staring at his plate.
He left his seat and moved around to Ianto's side of the table, and dropped into a crouch beside him. "Hey."
"Yes?" Ianto asked softly.
He curled his hand around Ianto's jaw and pulled him into a warm, gentle, kiss. "It'll be all right."
Ianto kissed back carefully, "Sure, Jack,"
"What's the worst that can happen?" he asked, steady and low.
"Everything'll go to shit."
"What constitutes going to shit for you?"
"You dying, the baby dying, everyone finding out..."
"I'm not going to stay dead," he promised. He never had before, anyway. "I hope like hell the baby doesn't die, and who could find out that would believe it?"
