Well, well. A new month and no sun in the sky.
I never thought I'd be caught saying so, but I rather miss the sun. There is something to be said for a natural cycle or rising and sleeping. I find myself nervously glancing at the clock nowadays, wondering if the sun will spontaneously reappear. This freedom seems too good to be true. There is bound to be a price to pay. My lady has been unaffected by this so far, but I dare not turn the world's attention to her and risk getting staked myself
So far it seems that aside from the cooling nature of the Earth and the wilting of crops, Reginald is also very sad. I have a bright lamp for him to bask under, but it is not the same. (UV lamps are, of course, not an option.) Are there tanning salons for animals?
Has anyone tried speaking directly to this new god? I know there's the rat-infested shrine of entirely unsatisfying fake rats note downtown, but has anyone gotten it to do anything? Left an offering to see what might happen? What does a god that steals from all others desire?

What languages did you learn as a child? Have they helped you as an adult?
I learned French and German and how to read and write in Latin as a child at school. French and German both helped when I went to finishing school in Switzerland, but I can't say I have need of them in my daily life. Latin was useful during my degree, but I see very little in Latin these days unless I seek it out. I learned Spanish after meeting my first husband, and I use it often.
If I was going to learn over, I would focus on Spanish first, I think.
