I can see you just stand there, hurt and disbelief in your eyes as you look at the dead clones on the ground, then at Sephiroth and then the clones again.

"He's not the type of person who would do something like that! Angeal would never betray me!" you yell, looking so much like the puppy Genesis calls you. I can see the question in your eyes. Just a simple why can be so crucifying sometimes.

You probably think Gen is a pompous bastard, and who would say that you aren't right? You probably think he is insufferable, incalculable and full of himself. You probably wonder why I would do something like this for someone who betrayed the things I hold dear.

He will never let you see more than that. He is like that, like a big cat mindful of its secretive independence. If you only knew what is behind that flamboyant arrogance... If you only knew what I know.

But you will never know. He won’t let you see it and I won’t tell.

You really have to fortify yourself when dealing with someone like Genesis. Patience is a must, and my patience just might be the thing to save us now. Maybe if I try hard enough, he can be convinced to come back… You must not be angry with me for that, Zack.

But your eyes are still so pained and so incredulous.

You don’t understand, do you?
