A/N: Aaargh, this is very very laaaate! And as are the other two entries I'm about to post. Big giant apologies! I've been 'out of range' for the last couple of weeks due largely to my being in Japan, and getting a year older, and spending too much time and money on Jrock lives, amongst other things...
On another note, I'm not entirely happy with this particular entry, and not just because it's a bit rushed, but I guess it is what it is. (I think I did about 4 re-writes?)^^
Also, to save confusion for myself and readers, I've made Cloud the only 'Nii-san' in this fic, and I've also given the three brothers an age order - Kadaj is the eldest, then Loz, then Yazoo. (I didn't think it was mentioned anywhere if they do have specific ages??) Anyway, here goes.
"I had another dream about Nii-san", Kadaj confessed to the dark of the room, feline eyes fluttering open with wakefulness.
To his side Yazoo was already awake, regardless of the early hour, and he turned to face his older brother on the bed they all shared, intrigued by his words. Their eyes soon met and the younger stared captivated at the sight - the other's gaze was radiating bright mako-green, his irises seeming to sparkle against the dull light of the surrounding room. Kadaj must have seen something of great significance for his eyes to flare up in such a prominent way.
"He came to me like last time, and he spoke to me..."
The fluorescence in the elder boy's unblinking eyes appeared to pulse with each word, and Yazoo found himself drawing ever closer to the other the longer he continued to stare back. He wanted so much to know more... Was this dream different from the last? Did Nii-san still want to meet them? What did he say? Did he mention Yazoo at all?
"Tell me again about our Nii-san," he finally asked, voice timid and hands reaching out to clutch to his brother. He wished he could have a dream about their Nii-san too. "Tell me about your dream, Kadaj. Please?"
He suddenly felt one of Loz' arms curling tightly about his waist, almost as if to pull him back and away from their elder brother; but it merely stopped to rest there, and he paid it no more mind as he pushed his way into Kadaj's embrace, eager to hear him speak further. If there was anything that could urge him to give his avid and undivided attention, it was mention of their Nii-san.
Kadaj smiled as he contemplated how best to relate his dream to his younger brother - he knew well how the long-haired boy could get both very excited and very obsessive about their Nii-san, not so differently from himself in fact, but he also knew that Yazoo craved something just a little more from their Nii-san, something that he personally wasn't searching for, and something that Loz would likely never understand. For while Kadaj needed the blonde's knowledge and power, Yazoo needed his flesh and his very presence - just being near their Nii-san would likely overwhelm him. Though a face-to-face meeting with Cloud was still a way off yet, he wondered if perhaps he could help Yazoo in the meantime with a few comforting touches and a little 'story' about his dream - he would, after all, do anything for his brother.
"I'll tell you everything you want to know, Yazoo, so don't worry now. I know what it is you need, and Nii-san knows too."
The younger male's eyes widened in surprise for a moment, voice lost just momentarily. "H-he does? Nii... Nii-san knows?"
"He told me so," Kadaj nodded, leaning in close to the other's ear, "He's getting closer every day, Yazoo, and he can't wait to finally meet us. To meet you."
Those last few words sent Yazoo's blood racing rapidly throughout his veins, something not-quite-unfamiliar flaring loudly in his stomach. Though it might have been their mission to seek him out, he could still scarcely believe that Nii-san wanted to meet him! He'd wished for it for as long as he could remember.
"Kadaj." Loz whispered a quiet warning as he shared a private look with the other, his concerns evident as he held onto the obviously trembling body of their younger brother. But he said nothing further when Kadaj reassured him with a nod, his gaze letting him know that Yazoo needed this for some reason - wanted it even - to have his brother speak of their Nii-san this way.
"He's got big plans for us too," the elder male continued, voice lowering an octave, making the words seem more intimate and personal than they were, "He waits for the day when we're finally all together, and we can begin to bring Mother's wish to fruition. He's so pleased that it will be just the four of us, making Mother proud."
Yazoo whimpered, burying his head further into his older brother's embrace. His body was shuddering fitfully, and he attempted to shift closer against Kadaj, to wrap his limbs around him and clutch to him like a child, but Loz' arm was still present at his waist, preventing him from doing so. He mewled frustratedly into Kadaj's neck, feeling the other's words resonate against his skin as he continued to speak.
"He can't wait to see us for real Yazoo, to know that we're actual flesh and blood - more than just a dream. He only sees us in dreams as well, you know... after Mother first told him about us and her plan, he wondered often how we would be like, until she sent him dreams of us... and he was just enamoured by Mother's creation of the three of us - he thinks that we're perfect. But just imagine it Yazoo, we're going to take on the Planet with Nii-san! He's going to--"
"Ahnn!" The youngest of the three suddenly cried out, interrupting his brother, his body going immediately slack and breath coming in harsh pants against Kadaj's shoulder. The elder boy was stunned into a temporary silence, eyes blinking widely until he registered the presence of a warm dampness on his thigh. He hadn't quite expected this response, or at least, not so soon... He hoped Yazoo would remain stable until they met with their Nii-san, it was going to be a while yet. He may have to help him again.
Loz neither spoke nor moved from his overseeing position, only looking on in confusion at his brothers' reactions, trying to gauge the feeling that was passing between them. The younger of the three eventually raised his head from Kadaj's chest, glancing first at him and then over to Loz, and as soon as their gazes met, Yazoo's cheeks went cherry red, shame obvious in his eyes. The larger male had been about to question his brother on his well-being when Kadaj promptly pulled him back into his arms, fingers threading through the yougner boy's hair in a comforting gesture.
"Soon brother, just a little longer. You'll get to be with our Nii-san for real."
