About the Ads
Due to the overwhelming load of bad ads that the other ad companies have been delivering to us, I have reverted the site back to using only google ads. While not having the diversity of multiple ad companies might hurt us in the short term, I am worried about that harm that the pop-ups, redirects, and other bad things that the other ad companies have been doing will affect us worse in the long term.

I never saw any of the ads, but I use adblock and have a paid account. It's great how IJ takes care of its users.

Off topic - I was sad to see [info]squeaky lose the election. On the other hand, things don't look so well over there as it is. Reading all the hoohah going on over there makes me appreciate IJ even more. You're still a winner to us, [info]squeaky.

I don't know if this has been brought up, but why is the site going down every night? And if its a reboot does it happen at the same time every day?

I've been having trouble with getting spam comments on one of my entries (link here I left the two latest spam comments - also I don't speak Russian it seems like an advert for a porn site), I know of another user who has the same problems.

I really don't want to disable anonymous comments. And I thought I'd let you know that there seems to be a spam attack.

I was lucky enough to not encounter this issue of the ads but I have noticed that the site loads faster then it did since you switched to Google ads. Don't know if it does have anything to do with it but I am happy cause the site was painfully slow to load and was making me not wanna use IJ...

SERIOUS slowness and inability to load site

Hi,

IJ has been concrete-slow on and off for the past few days, sometimes failing to load at all, sometimes taking two minutes to load the site. Is there something going on that is affecting site performance? Is there anything I can/should do to fix this?

Anyone else also getting this problem? I've opened a support ticket as nothing me or my friend tries works.

We can't post to asylums anymore, or to our own journals; posting logs us in as a random journal either of us also own. =( It's getting very annoying.

i don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but i can't see updates on my friends page after about 2 pm this afternoon. if i go to the asylums themselves i can see them but not on the fp. this problem is only occuring in this journal and not other journals of mine.

Amazing! I wasn't getting the pop-ups or redirects, but those ads flashing red and green and saying that I'd... uh, won 7380000000€ for being visitor #869056593 were getting to my nerves (and eyes) pretty bad. This is a very good decision from you and I appreciate it a lot!

It would be fantastic if comment threads and entries would stop randomly getting deleted. Seriously. I hope you find people to help work on the bugs soon since we all know it's not a one-man job. And we're all getting pretty impatient and annoyed after 6+ months of the same problems.

the comment rot is annoying - and it seems like it stopped for a little while and then picked up again. i've accidentally commented on two people's posts and gotten rid of 200+ comments, it is frustrating and it'd be great if that was moved somewhere near the top of the list

You need to fix these bugs ASAP. If you need more manpower, ask for more volunteers. There are people within the community that are tech-savvy who would help for free. There is no reason someone else can't help you figure out the admin console problem or help you with quickreply or comment rot, but I am increasingly unlikely to stay here without any progress on any of those three issues. This is not what I'm paying for.

What the hell is going on? Are you just like, on vacation or something? Are you planning on ever commenting to take responsibility on what's going on? Is this another GreatestJournal? At least they eventually told everyone they had just abandoned the site to hell. IJ has a lot going for it and there's really only a few problems that must have viable solutions -- please just work them out!

Please just write a post updating where things stand! Not everyone reads through comments. You need to write a post that says "I am aware of these bugs" and give a timeline for fixing them!
