Welcome GreatestJournal Users
I have been in touch with the owner of GreatestJournal and their servers are overloaded. Due to this they are currently telling anyone who attempts to create a journal over there to come to InsaneJournal. We are prepared to accept you and hope you enjoy your time here. I know that the owner of GreatestJournal wants to give his user's the best experience possible.

But for the time being, feel free to make your home here.

Note: Please know that there is no conspiracy, GreatestJournal and InsaneJournal are independent sites, they are owned by independent people. This is what this is it is and nothing more.

honestly, ij is a lot faster than gj right now so IF gj eventually shuts down then we still have this website.

It's good to know that there is actually a good blog site that still works. I'm really considering where to move next from GreatestJournal, I've been on that site since 2003, although I've joined many other sites in between. But now that I see what has become of LiveJournal I'm not entirely happy, especially since I dropped 150 on a permanent account.

For the most part, I think if I do move it would be to this website. Not only because a vast majority seems to be moving here but also because it's nice to actually have an admin that DOES acknowledge it's userbase and doesn't completely and utterly ignore us.

Now I think my only question and complaint about this website is, is there ANYWAY that you could create a interface that looked exactly like GreatestJournal's? Because really, all these interfaces are rather...ugly(sorry!) and I really don't like any of them. I want an interface that is easy to use and well basically it would make my move a lot easier on myself and I'm sure on a lot of GJ and LJ members. I know if I had the GJ interface, I would certainly not stop myself from purchasing a permanent account and getting all my friends to take this move with me.

Thanks for actually reading, caring and taking the time out to SHOW us that you actually DO care about this website.

Hello,

Im another GJ user that just came over here to see how the site worked and everything. I made a community that would be for an rpg game we are thinking about moving over here however when I sent out a few invites for members to join no one has receieved them.

Also we were curious about PM's. On GJ currently when you go to someones user info there is an option to send a PM (or email as they call it but its PM's) next to the persons username. Is there anyway that there could be a PM option in user infos?

Thanks a lot!

As an avid greatestjournal user for the past five or six years now, I don't want to see it go, at all. I love how greatestjournal is as a whole and can understand how their servers are overloading. To me, that's only a testament on how much people love that site. But, in creating new journals we've been directed here and if that helps them and their servers, I'm sure a lot of us will be doing so. No offense to you guys here at insanejournal, and with all do respect, I hope things get straightened out and things return back to normal. Until then, I, along with many, will be making our homes here. Thanks for allowing us and keeping in touch with the owners of greatestjournal, to come on over!

Haha. This reminds me of one of those people that ends up with 20 teenagers on their doorsteps and all they can say is.
"...Feel free to make your home here."

So far you have been more open then all of the moderators at Greatest Journal (including the owner). This post alone has provided more information to GJ users then any of the "news" posts have back on our site.

Although I do not know if I will be moving anytime soon, the fact that you actually responded to an anonymous comment on this post impressed me to no end, and due to it I will seriously consider moving here because my trust in the foundation holding up greatestjournal has faltered. I suppose all I would have to do is become less afraid of the smiley face here....... which might be very hard.

Thank you

New arrival from GJ here... I have to say, this site is pretty easy to use. I might end up moving all my stuff over here if GJ keeps having problems like they're having right now.

I'm glad the rp I'm in has an option :) A lot of us are making journals here to continue on with our game. I'm glad IJ is rpg friendly though, most definitely ♥

Though, I have a couple of questions (and YAY, a site runner who answers back, thats badass): how long are permanent accounts available for, are free users going to get a bigger choice of journal styles (I miss Tiers like woah :(! ), and is it possible for free users to buy more icons (or, alternately, is the icon limit going to be raised for free users)? Even if I get a no to the last couple of questions, that's quite ok. Being able to upload and keep icons is a beautiful thing as it is.

Just wanted to let you know that I think the site is going great and I love having a permanent account. It's good to know that you're on the ball with everything and I have total piece of mind that my account and entries will remain up and untouched until I decide to do anything with them.

Well done, Squeaky!

I'm moving all three of my rpg's over here from gj. Thanks for being so awesomely welcomg and being rpg-friendly! It's a relief to know that we have a place to go and won't have to lose our 3+ years of entries and memories that our characters have built up.

I came over here from GJ because it seems to have gone completely bonkers. I still use my livejournal, but I like having two journals to kind of cross post, or post certain things in one, etc.

Anyway, I ended up buying a perm. account and treated my other friend who moved to here from GJ to a 6 month paid account as well.

Looks like a really great site, can't wait to use it more!

Hi, Squeaky! We just moved our writing comm over now that GJ's on the fritz. I have other journals here already, and I love it! I'll be upgrading my accounts after the holidays when I can afford it. ^_^

It's amazing you actually reply to your users and kind of you. I was wondering if there was any chance you'd have another style contest that IJ had before maybe? I really like IJ, however the site layout just isn't navigation friendly to me.
