That said, we welcome all of you and if you have any issues, please feel free to visit our support area.
  • New User Here

Found this place from some community in LJ. This place looks so cute^_^
  • Got here through a link from eljay.

Probably won't migrate over here fully - yet - but just wanted to say it looks great. I'm thinking of buying a permanent account... perhaps if I ever move over here. :)
  • Thank you for this message. It is nice to be welcomed.

I'm certainly going to use my account as a fanfic archive and I'm considering buying a permanent account. You have one of the most sensible TOS I've come across in recent years.
Unfortunately, I have some issues using paypal Europe and money transfers from outside the US are quite expensive. I hope to figure something out soon. :)
  • Hey, I've spent the last few days playing around over here and I want to also thank you for the warm welcome. I really like your site and I like that you seem to be very accessible to your users.

As soon as I get my next paycheck, I'll be purchasing a permanent account and I'm planning to move some of my fannish activities here.
  • This place is great, it feels like home. And it’s going be even more like home in about ten minutes. I think I’m about to go permanently insane.

    Thanks for the welcome!

    Pip :)
  • Thank you for the wonderful welcome! I hope we aren't stressing your server too badly. I love it here already.
  • You're awesome, this place is awesome, and I really do think I'll be sticking around. :D
  • Just purchased myself a permanent account (hey, $30 bucks? Can't beat it!) and am glad to be here. BTW, is there a list of the goodies that come with that. I'm already happy with all those icons and no ads, but am I missing anything else? *grin*
  • Thanks for the welcome! I am very impressed with what I have seen of the site's personality and functionality so far, and I will definitely be pimping IJ on my LJ. Which sounds odd, but there you are... **grin**

    Min ;)
  • I'm kind of in love with IJ right now, for the anti-censorship attitude, the no ads attitude (oh, God, I hate ads), and while I don't plan on leaving LJ wholesale, I do plan on mirroring here, and sort of seeing what happens.

The idea of a cleaned up, prettified LJ is just...blah. No fun.
  • I just wanted to stop by and thank you for the welcome, even if I'm more of a returner than a refugee. I've always loved the site's atmosphere, and now that I've reviewed the policy again, I feel even more welcome than I did the first go around.
  • I'm adding my thanks for the welcome to the list.

After 20 mins of looking around, I love the layout of this place and am all ready recognizing some people.
  • I'm very much liking what I'm seeing here. So much so, that I'm thinking of making this my main journal. Being the newbie I am (I'm here from LJ), I do have a question regarding your permanent accounts. Are the accounts truly permanent? A one-time payment and that's it, my journal's here and here it will remain (assuming I don't do something against your TOS, of course)? Or will I be asked for more money sometime in the future? I've been looking around IJ's main site, trying to find an answer to this, but alas. If you could go into more detail on this, I'd be very thankful.

Either way, permanent-permanent or simply here until you decide to take [insert time] payments, I'll be moving over.
  • I'm actually kind of glad LJ blew up, because otherwise I wouldn't have known about IJ. IJ seems pretty awesome, and so do you!

The one thing I miss from LJ is the nav strip (I know, I know, everyone else hates it, but I live by it). Any chance of adding something like that here?

Regardless, I'm going to get a paid account as soon as I get myself and my communities...excuse me, asylums...settled in. :D
  • Thanks for the welcome!

I'm moving here because of LJ's shameful censorship move. I wasn't personally affected, but my girlfriend had her journal nixed for a few days, and it caused both of us more tears and stress than we needed.

We'll both be getting paid accounts shortly. Thanks for providing a safe place for our free thoughts!
  • Thanks for your commitment to free speech and expression! You're my new hero :)

I found this site after the Strikethrough at Livejournal occurred. I have already made a final post on my LJ telling everyone to switch over to InsaneJournal.

    Keep up the good work!
  • I opened a journal here following SixApart's previous PR disaster, but I've been mainly using it to post my art and art scholarship/history posts since most of my friends and communities are still on LJ.

I'm glad to see others are considering IJ to be a viable option. I have to say that I personally like the layout of both the front page (very easy to navigate...LJ used to be like that *sigh*) and customisation options even for free accounts is flexible enough for me. I'm definitely considering getting a permanent account once I have the financial opportunity to do so. (I'm a teacher aspiring to creating a graphic novel, so most of my paycheck is going elsewhere)
  • Antother LJ refugee here, and I poked around IJ enough to know that I LOVE IT. Didn't have a journal struck through, but you know, LJ is getting to me. Couldn't pass up the $30 PERMANENT ACCOUNT (good GOD is that more afforadable than $150!) and I'm going to be hoping/encouraging that a fandom migration happens in the VERY near future!

I've seen several other people voice it, and I'm going to ask the same, although I've seen the answer; there's a fandom community on LJ, that's just for a headcount, and there's like, 23,000 journals on it, and more that didn't join I'm sure. Can your server(s) handle that kind of load?
  • Thank you for the welcome, it's nice to find somewhere where we feel wanted!

  • Thankee-sai!

Felt like adding myself to the pile of people thanking you for IJ and the safe haven. For the forseeable future, I'll be using IJ as a mirror for my LJ (and very likely going nuts back-posting the whole thing over here), but even so, I do appreciate the welcome and will seriously consider permanently switching over after my paid LJ runs out. (Just now ponied up for Permanent Insanity over here; figured if I was going to use y'all as a back-up, I'd be nice and pay for it even though I don't have to--to be honest, your personal very friendly attitude toward free accounts that I've seen displayed in this one post was what decided me about paying for one.) I am looking forward to settling in and making myself at home here, too.

    So again, thanks :)
  • You are an simply amazing webmaster. Doing all of this on your own and personally answering each and every comment is fantastic in itself, it really shows that you care about the users of the site.

    Right now, I'm just kind of... well, it's complicated situation, I just need a place in a corner of online where I don't know anyone online. I just hope my friends don't follow me here. o_o;

I do wish I could spread the word about this fantastic site but at the same time, I don't want to be discovered. :\ Of course, I made up a new account name with no relation to the LJ one. And from the looks of things, this seems like a great asylum safe place for me to live in. =)

And while I'm not affiliated with any of the fandom, I have been watching the strikeout closely and some issues have arisen, along with my need for a place of my own online. I know you are accepting of both free and paid accounts, but soon (late august), I plan on getting perma account here and stop paying for LJ.

And whaddya know, the very first thing after uploading a user pic, is to reply this notice! So thank you for welcoming us all.
  • Thanks for the welcome!

Squeaky, you've got a great site here, and I think I'll be one of the migrants. Your very clear welcoming statement and sensible TOS are definite bonuses! I also really like that you seem to be using a very recent build of the LJ code, so all the features I love about LJ are here.

One thing that does worry me a bit is the low sale price of permanent accounts. Quite honestly, I'd rather buy an annual account so I can help your ongoing revenue stream for the purchase of servers and bandwidth. I'm less likely to remember to donate every year!

Honestly, if fandom comes here to you, I think you'll need an ongoing source of cash to buy those things we want - reliability, speed, capacity, and you'll probably need help running the site as it grows, so that means paid help.

I deliberately haven't bought a permanent account just yet so I can talk with you about this. If you're going with only free and permanent accounts, I'll try and set up a reminder system for myself so that I can give you money each year.

Let me know? And thanks again!
  • Hey squeaky!

I am so veru definitely happy here, altbhough I've done a goof up on an account XD. I went to buy extra user pics for one of my RP journals as a gift tonight, and wound up paying for them again on this journal because I forgot to do the 'gift' option for them (Fortunately, the main part of getting the perm account set up went well. *g*)

NO worries, though, it's only $10, and my mistake, so in a bit I'll try 'gifting' my own Rp journal again with the extra user pics. *g* consider the extra ten a 'thank you' for being here!
  • Yet another LiveJournal migrant here. I just wanted to say that my experience with the site so far has been overwhelmingly positive, and I certainly plan to upgrade to a Permanently Insane account next paycheck (although you guys are really very generous to free users, I must say-- one hundred icons is an amazing deal for a free account!) so I can play around with custom layers.

I especially like your assurance that you won't be arbitrarily deleting content! It really is a relief to see that spelled out so plainly on a site, and thank you for saying it.
  • Questions

I forsee a large migration to IJ from LJ happening shortly. I've created an account because this looks like the best alternative and I'd love to be able to say that I was in the first 100,000 users when you're boasting over 13,000,000. I'll be spreading the word.

Can you, please, direct me to 1) your FAQ section, and 2) the link to create an asylum?
