Upcoming changes

Sometime soon (hopefully today if I can work all the bugs out) we are going to be patching in a major change to the way URLs work here on InsaneJournal. This is to address a browser security flaw that might allow your cookies to be stolen. All of the old URLs will redirect you to where you need to be, so you need not worry about that.

All users will now have personalized domain names.

This means that your journal will now be at http://YOURUSERNAME.insanejournal.com/

If your username starts with a "_" your journal will be at http://patients.insanejournal.com/YOURUSERNAME.

All asylums will be at http://asylums.insanejournal.com/ASYLUMNAME

All syndicated feeds will be at http://feeds.insanejournal.com/FEEDNAME

We will make a post as soon as we patch this new code into the main website.

In the meantime if you want to help make sure this patch goes smoothly please join the codetesting asylum. We will be posting testing instructions there soon. You help would be greatly appreciated and will help the InsaneJournal project move through this transition very smoothly.

  Ah yes, I saw the post explaining this on LJ when it first came out. xD
  
  Everyone was pissed. All the paid users were mad that the free users got a shorter URL for free when they previously had to pay before. And then LJ gave them phone posts and the non-American LJers were like...just give us some more icons. Weird. o.O

  Hey, i dont know where to leave stuff like this, but when i go to add someone i get a funky thin at top that says "Add username as a friend?:"
