Chocolate-Covered Cloud
Greetings, all!

I was directed here by [info]chibirisuchan on account of a dessert I felt the need to make after reading this fic by [info]bloodparade over on LJ. It put the idea of a chocolate-covered Cloud firmly in my head. This particular combination is not readily apparent on the internet, but it stands to reason it might exist already somewhere. Nevertheless, here's my tribute to FFVII's fandom bicycle. :p

Essentially, it's some sort of white cake (Angel Food for extra fluffy Cloud), layered with banana whipped cream, because we all know Cloud likes is bananas on the inside, covered in chocolate frosting. There's nothing too fancy about it though maybe that's just right for our smalltown chocobohead. This was a quick-and-easy student budget version, but those of you with the time and resources could probably step up the ingredient quality if you're inclined.

Banana Whipped Cream
1 cup whipping cream
3 tbsp confectioners' sugar
2 ripe bananas, pureed
juice of half a lemon

Pulp those bananas well so you don't end up overwhipping your cream into butter. You could add more sugar if you really want, but the rest of the cake is sweet enough that it didn't matter much to me. Add a little yellow food coloring (or possibly some banana liqueur...) if you want an extra blond punch.

So there's my not-quite-first fandom dessert. I made a Sephiroth gingerbread man three Christmases ago but he didn't last long. >_> Nice to be here with you all and I look forward to cooking and tasting whichever lithe bishy recipe you all offer up! XD
