MILLICENT BAGNOLD ISSUES STATEMENT REGARDING ATTACK
Caldwalder Bruin - DP London
LONDON - Millicent Bagnold returned to the Ministry of Magic this morning, issuing a statement to reporters regarding the future of her campaign for Minister of Magic, as well as regarding the attack on her home by a suspected female Death Eater on Sunday evening.
The statement issued was as follows:
"The event itself was very traumatic. I lost my sister and brother-in-law, both of whom I was extremely close to. I am angry, but I have not been scared away from my decision to campaign for the Minister of Magic position. I have spoken with Otis Wilde several times since the attack, and we have agreed to form a transitionary cabinet and work on this change of power together. He is behind me 100%, which I greatly appreciate. I will take control of the ministry on April 14th. I am making it known that threats against my life will roll off my back like water. I will NOT be intimidated into jeoparding the wizarding community, or selling my soul so that an elist few can burn our government and sense of unity to the ground. I refuse to propagate a purist system of beliefs. I believe in treating all citizens on a fair plain, and that, whether a "pureblood," "halfblood," or "muggleborn," all wizards and witches have them same rights."
Bagnold also wished to dispel rumours regarding muggle witness accounts of a "blond man" apparating in the area and aiding Bagnold in fighting against the suspected Death Eater, stating, "This is entirely untrue. There was no one at my home that evening except for me, my sister, my brother-in-law, and our attacker."
A memorial service for Marion and Patrick Twiling will be held on Friday afternoon at the Bagnold Estate. The family asks that all donations of condolence be made to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies.
