After what seemed like an age of cautiously moving around (it was kind of difficult to be nimble and swift with the ridiculous mask and robes on), Severus reached another door. The first was a lone room at one side of the house and had been empty. Slowly, he pushed it and thrust his head inside. He extended his arm, the light travelling further. There was a lump in the corner of the room. Most likely a child, judging by its size.
A malicious smirk spread across his face like wildfire, before he whispered a harsh-sounding avada kedavra and aimed his wand in its general direction. The body remained still, but something fell from the bedside cabinet, although only making a relatively small sound. Even so, he warily glanced about the room for any signs of movement or stirring but there were none.
The second bed was unoccupied. Severus narrowed his eyes.
