Allura, Crusader of the Zakharem faith, crouched down upon the desert sands. The sand was red, and churned like butter. A battle, no, a slaughter had taken place here. Remnants of once living beings scattered the field of red. Around them the wind billowed, blowing sand in every which direction.

Beneath her plate armor, the blonde woman sweated profusely. It caused her to feel as dirty and grimy as a street begger, and the sand that was somehow finding it's way through the cracks of her armor did not help how she felt at all. Whatever had happened here, there were trails of blood leading away from here.

"Shall we follow?" she looked up and asked, smirking behind her helm, for it was a rhetorical question. Of course they would follow.

"What is that look for? You are beautiful, Ayla. You were always the prettier one."

Switching to honesty, it was a good way to defuse her irritable little sister sometimes. Drawing the brunette against her, she dragged her into the cool water with her. Clinging to Ahayla, the bath wasn't very deep, only up to their waists. They would have to sit down to be immersed.

"We keep each other warm, silly."

Ahayla sighed softly, closing her eyes. Why was Allura teasing and then honest the next moment? "You are just as pretty." Not that being pretty mattered in their line of work...it only helped when they came across certain demons and chauvinistic men who won't give up information without a price.

Dragged in, she gasped. The water was cold! Damn it, she didn't like cold! Shivering for a moment, she bit her bottom lip in an effort to keep from crying out. Sure, that totally worked.

"No need to spare my feelings, Ahayla."

Allura knew she wasn't pretty. She was tall and thin, small breasted, with unruly blonde hair. If she wasn't a Crusader she would make a good scarecrow.

"Shh. Just stay close to me."

Holding her little sister close, she shared her warmth with her. Once she had adapted to the water's temperature, she sat them down. Gathering up a handful of water, she began to scrub and rub her sister's neck.

"Does that feel better?"

"I am not sparing them."

Ahayla truly thought her sister was pretty in her own way.

It wasn't like she could go anywhere. Allura had a hold on her! Sitting there, eventually she was moved off to the side where the blonde began to rub her neck.

"Mhmm..." Ahayla mumbled, her body visibly going into a relaxed state.

"Err...well..."

Flustered, Allura didn't know how to respond to that. How could Ahayla truly think she was pretty? It had to be heatstroke talking. Scrubbing her sister's neck and back, she then scrubbed under her arms. Moving her hands back, she began to gently knead her little sister's back.

"How are you adjusting to the plate armor?"

"Well. It's heavy." Ahayla stated, and it was obvious.

"And sometimes my shoulders hurt," she continued, shrugging. She wasn't going to say it was harder than she expected. "I'm getting there."

Letting Allura scrub her, she felt like a kid again.

"That is why they call it heavy armor," she teased.

Hearing that her sister's shoulders hurt, Allura reached up and began to massage them. She enjoyed being helpful to her little sister. It was a nice, happy change of pace from their day job.

"Your shoulders certainly are tense. Does anywhere else hurt?" she asked in concern. "I can massage anywhere you like."

Rolling her eyes at her teasing sister, the brunette only huffed. Yes, she figured that was why they called it as such. That was why she said it had been heavy. Never mind that, however. She should be focusing on her bath.

Feeling Allura reach up to massage her, she shrugged her sister's hands off. She should get her sister's bath over with first. "Turn around." She told her, grabbing a nearby towel and lathering it up so she could do her back.

"My shoulder's don't hurt today. But, nothing else hurts either. I'm fine." Answering, she did appreciate that Allura was willing to help.

"You aren't going to hit me in the back of the head, are you?"

Her sister seemed rather grumpy about something. That wasn't surprising, though. Turning around as requested, she thought about warning Ahayla, but it was too late anyways. Staring at the plain stone wall of the bathing room, she wished there was something more exciting to look at.

"The Crusader who trained me would say that if you weren't hurting, you hadn't been fighting enough," she recalled. "What will you remember of me after I have fallen?"
