| Signups for jovium recovery teams are posted during classes; all trainees are eligible to sign up with approval of their mentors. |
| MISSION: Trainees are tasked to investigate several asteroids that researchers have found may contain some of the new element. Pandora Wildman, Lyra Xun, Jase Walkins, and Lux Guinto volunteer for the temporary squad. Within the first few hours of travel to the location, they make good headway, but soon it's apparent that something has malfunctioned in the ship's navigation system — they've been going in circles trying to locate the asteroids. Lux Guinto and Pandora Wildman work together to fix the broken equipment and the team reaches their destination only a few hours behind schedule. LOCATION: Asteroid Belt. |
| MISSION DAY 2: For a while the mission seems like a bust; there's nothing really out of the ordinary. While exploring the rock, Noa Garland finds a small deposit of the substance that the Headmaster described. In their excitement, they upload a picture of their discovery to their social media account of choice, gaining them hundreds of followers and thousands of likes by the time the team returns home — including an ominous comment from Edward Jupiter. |
| MISSION: After the success of the previous volunteer mission, OMEGA SQUAD (Aurora Villion, Julia Child, Axel Lowell), Candle Nova and [ONE OTHER VOLUNTEER - ANY DESIGNATION] are tasked to retrieve more of the element from a location in rural Mars — a system of naturally occurring ocean caves. While the others conduct some scientific tests of the soil and minerals of the caves, Julia Child and Candle Nova go off exploring the caves together — and it's a good thing they do, because while diving into one of the cave pools, they find an enormous underwater mineral deposit. LOCATION: Martian desert. |
| MISSION DAY 2: The team calls to HQ about the deposit and the academy sends out reinforcements to collect the samples. [CHARACTER F - TRAINEE ON MISSION] sees some of the stuff lying around during the transport and gets curious — and ends up putting it in their mouth just as someone else walks in. [CHARACTER F] is stunned at their body's response: sudden and spontaneous levitation that lasts through the rest of the flight home. Oops? |
| MISSION: Cody Nordstrom, Aurora Villion and Drys Yord are assigned to experiment with the new element in the academy labs, to be overseen by squad leaders and other staff. Drys Yord ingests jovium orally and gains the brief (minutes-long) ability to read everyone else's minds. Aurora Villion is administered a topical salve, which causes them to experience extreme hallucinations. Cody Nordstrom takes a pill filled with the substance, but shows no signs of supernatural talent — until six hours later, when they scrape their knee and the wound closes instantly. LOCATION: ISS. |
| ALPHA VESPER 50TH ANNIVERSARY GALA. AVA's annual holiday gala is held early this year to celebrate its anniversary in tandem. The event is invitation only — invitations are extended to all staff, high-ranking IMF officers, and the ISS's elite. Trainees in attendance are either family of generous AVA benefactors/high-ranking military, or volunteering as staff for the event. Attendance includes access to a private auction of rare books and Old-Earth artifacts in possession of the AVA archives. Dress code is black tie formal. (IC/OOC POST) |
— The events listed here are by no means a limitation on what can happen; they're simply the progression of the planned gamewide plot. Feel free to expand on these plot points as well as create your own. This gpsl is for you as much as it is for me, so don't be shy. If you have an idea, roll with it! If it's something major that you'd like added to the next pcal, email it to me privately or post it here. — Players can fill two volunteer slots at first, and more if the rest aren't filled by the time of the event. Comment here to fill a spot. — Remember that all in-game actions will have consequences for your characters, even things specified in the pcal. — All trainees on missions are exempt from classes and training while on duty. — Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you have regarding the pcal or anything else! |
