It has been three years since
Barclay Grisholt slipped into a coma after valiantly defending his school from an impending attack. Since then, the world has fallen to ruin.
An Otherworldly army invaded our world, the Ophidians. Serpentine or lizardlike, saurian of even reminiscent of turtles, it was unknown what they are. Demons? Aliens? Fae? The descendants of the original serpent and Lilith? They were powerful, magical creatures, enthralling all the reptiles in this world - including the dragons.
Soon, most of North-America, South-America and Australi had been taken over. Their army is now encroaching the Asian coasts and the Pacific islands. Europe, Africa and the Saudi remain (mostly) free. The Ophidians do not seem to like the colder climates. They have turned most humans into cattle. Food, workers, breeders, though some have been able to rise through the ranks. Most demons quickly turned sides. Most weres fled to Canada. Most vampires hid in the shadows. The fae fled, as they were ruthlessly killed by the Ophidians. The rest... It depends. The world as we know it is gone.
St. Margaret's is a boneyard. Here, however, one of the pockets of the rebellion makes its home in the dungeons, hidden in the dungeons.
Barclay doesn't know any of this. And now, he has woken up.
