Setting aside her journal and quill, Meaghan happily hopped up, ran her hand through her long mane of brown hair, and grabbed her wand. She did want to make something of a better impression on Charlie than she had the last time they had been together. Though Charlie had appreciated what her showing up in pajamas meant, she also didn't hasten to make him believe she never cared about her appearance, especially where he was concerned. Thankfully, she had dressed with a decent amount of care that morning! looking casual and yet a bit special, which seemed appropriate enough for the outing. She shot a quick glance in the mirror before apparating to the rocky cliff face just beyond the coffee shop. She came this way quite a bit, and it was a perfect spot, out of view of the few muggles that also frequented the shop. Portree was a small but mixed community, and Meaghan had grown up here all her life. Sometimes she worried that she was missing out by never having lived anywhere else, but there was a measure of comfort in the familiar.
The shop was nearly deserted when she entered, and she smiled to herself. She had won, at least this round, though she went to the counter to order their drinks anyway. "Earl grey with cream and sugar, and black coffee, Pearl," she said to the plump but pleasant woman behind the counter. Pearl raised her eyebrow at Meaghan as she turned to pour her tea. "In all my years, I've never seen you drink coffee," she said, nearly shaking her head in disbelief. "Oh, it's not for me it's for....a friend," she explained after a shirt pause, color growing on her cheeks. Pearl's eyebrow shot to the ceiling, but to her credit she said nothing as she pushed the drinks towards the younger woman and accepted her sickles without further comment.
Meaghan smiled a bit to herself as she set his glass across from her and stared out the window next to her, watching the waves crash and waiting for Charlie Weasley to arrive.
