Who: Toby
What: Facing the tank/Narrative
Where: Just before it reached Everett
Status: complete
Rating: Nothing too bad.
He'd been biding his time ever since he left his gift for Spencer. There was no way she'd keep him waiting for long. Spencer was like a pitbull. Once she got a hold of a bone, she latched on tight and refused to let go until she was sure she'd unburied all it's potential secrets. That was what made her so fun. If his theory was right, Emily would be trying to talk her down. Convince her she was being paranoid or that she was grasping at straws. They were checks and balances with each other, and that made this game all the more fun for Toby.
This also meant that he had to be careful about remaining a low profile. If too many people got a glimpse of him, then Spencer could find him too soon. A good game was all about timing. His girl was the most fun when she'd been left to boil and simmer before finally exploding into action. Which was why he was currently a couple miles away from Everett. He'd found someone trying to make it to salvation. A cute little redhead girl with big green eyes and freckles. She thought he was a sight for sore eyes. Someone to help her reach civilization.
She'd tasted like wine and screamed like a dream. Toby didn't usually play with his food, but he enjoyed toying with her. It had been awhile, and since she had no ties in town, she as a safe game. When he'd finished with her, he let the body drop into a ditch. It was on the way back that he heard something pounding it's way through the forest. Very little shocked Toby after all he'd seen as human and vampire, but one look at this big ugly son of a bitch and he paused for a second.
"What in the fuck are you?" He muttered as it continued to trample it's way through brush and uprooting trees as it made it's journey closer to town. Toby was no hero. He didn't give a shit about this thing and really had no feelings strong or otherwise about most people in Everett. However, he had his girls and he didn't want them coming face to face with this. Rebekah was his sire and he had an obligation and desire to protect her from danger. Emily and Spencer were his. Needy was a friend. So he grabbed his guns and began to shoot at it. His aim was perfect. It should have fallen.
Instead it only seemed to speed up now that it's attention was caught. He decided to try brute strength, bouncing off a tree to give him speed and height so he could try and rip it's head off. Instead he got swatted like a plane trying to take down Godzilla. Landing hard into a tree, he was stunned for just a second before attempting to get back to his feet and shooting again. This was pointless. Toby wasn't going to be able to kill it on his own.
A careful retreat was made at top vampire speed. If he couldn't stop this thing, he could at least get a message to his sire and their group. This thing was dangerous and if it couldn't be stopped? It could and would be avoided.
