For David, the zombies in Everett didn't concern him. Their undead numbers were every growing but in terms of how they acted and what they did they were easily avoidable if someone knew what they were doing. What worried David more, or at least what challenged him more, was the every looming threat of vampires who didn't take too kindly to the chosen council. Of course David could understand vampires not wanting to answer to a higher group of their kind. After all, vampires were strong and those who had strength often thought themselves as someone without a master. David could easily rationalize but at the same time he didn't have the patience for vampires who disregarded the life of mortals.
Because of the way David was born he was never thrown into the chaos of death dealers and lycans. He was born a vampire, something that was rare but it did happen when pure blooded vampires mated. David's mother, Amelia, was one of the first vampires created by Marcus. Amelia was a vampire elder although David didn't know about his mother nor did he know of his lineage. The blood of Alexander Corvinus ran through him now thanks to Selene but perhaps his existence was something that came to fruition because of who his mother was, a vampire turned by Marcus Corvinus, the son of Alexander.
He wasn't used to the other species of vampires but it wasn't the first time that David had stumbled upon a group who were taking matters into their own hands. He had caught a couple in the midst of feeding on a human. The girl was dead from what he could see and the vampires seemed to be having a good time shoving her lifeless corpse around to drain what was left.
David wasn't always one to be judge, jury and executioner but here in the middle of the night the matter of handing out a sentence was going to be done no matter what. David already had his sword in hand, the blade giving a shine as the moonlight flickered off its steel.
"You two know what it means to take the life of an innocent human," he said, the two vampires not impressed by David's sight, the girl's body dropped against the ground. David didn't even notice that there was someone else coming, another human who was also stumbling across the same scene.
