Who: Tony and Faith What: Running into one another late at night When: Tonight Where: The Prison Warnings: TBD
Since the announcement about the new kids in town, Tony had been spending most of his nights working in the prison. He'd spent one night out at Fangtasia, but otherwise, he was working. He had created the trackers that Natasha had asked for, so now they had to hope that these 'military' bastards didn't have a way to disable them that they couldn't predict. He hadn't spoken to the leader himself, but he'd seen the post himself. This woman already knew all about them. She either had someone feeding her information, or had someone hacking the network. Honestly, Tony wasn't sure which one was worse.
Once he finished the trackers, Tony first injected one into himself. He wouldn't expect anyone anyone to try anything that he wasn't willing to try on himself. Once injected, the tracker itself dissolved into nano-tech, so it would be a lot harder to trace and remove. It had been a pain in the ass to get enough materials for everyone (assuming everyone would even want one, because he knew trackers would freak the fuck out of some people), but he'd managed to do it. Hopefully, these would allow for them to keep track of everyone, thus solving one of the biggest problems that they were currently facing.
With that concern out of the way, the next big issue was getting their people back. Tony never trusted anyone that would just straight kidnap a kid and refuse to return them. Because of his own experiences, Tony was now leery of trusting anyone claiming that they would be able to help everyone if they gave up a few liberties. He'd been the one preaching for cooperation once, thinking that it was the only way. He and Steve had managed to tear the team apart at home because neither could understand where the other was coming from, plus Tony had chosen to work with someone in the government that he knew was a giant piece of shit. He wasn't going to make that mistake again.
After waiting to make sure that he didn't have any adverse reaction to the injection (he didn't), Tony headed out of his part of the Engineering lab and made his way to the kitchen. He'd been working for hours and missed dinner (and lunch) and, before he tried sleeping on the cot that he kept in the lab, he needed to eat at least something. It was late and, from what he could tell, most everyone was asleep. He'd message Natasha in the morning to let her know that the trackers were done, and then they could start working on getting their people back. That was now his main concern.
