She wasn't going to cry. She wasn't going to cry. Nope. Not going to cry. Her phone had darkened as it sat on her bunk because after she saw what Emma said, she was done then. She would not respond. She refused to because whatever she said now would just make it even more worse than it already was. Emma was willing to throw away their friendship and Cristina knew that if she responded, then it would be a done deal. Their friendship would be over. But how could it be over so quickly? She didn't want it to be, but Emma was stubborn and she knew that this wouldn't have been easy but she didn't think it would have come to this. She was wrong about that. It went worse than expected. And right now as Cristina got herself dressed in her gear, packed her weapons on her and pulled her hair back in a slick yet messy bun, she looked at that phone one more time, expecting a message. She expected something. Maybe Emma had overreacted but no. There was nothing. She grabbed that phone and shoved it underneath her blanket. She chose to not take it with her.
It was foolish but right now, she didn't want to talk to anyone. How could she? Julian and the others would be upset as well, they would turn their backs on her because of her feelings for Ash. She hadn't even had much chance to explain before Emma immediately shut her down. And they would all of course, feel as she did. Cristina had nobody.
Cristina did care about Ash and she had for months. It was hard to admit that to herself, let alone Ash and it all came to a head when Ash explained how he felt the other night while they were on sentry duty together. Things had been complicated only because of the possession and the influence of that, but that was really nothing compared to the fact that yes, Ash did have a past. He had a past where he was taught at a young age about how to live, to be Sebastian's servant. And Cristina knew how he did not want that life. He did not want to be that person. He didn't know there was another way. He thought that was how life was to be and Cristina did understand that.
She had her own grievances when it came to Ash. She knew what he was capable of, what he could do because that was his way of life for so long but she did not see that in him here. She did not see the man she had heard about in Thule. She saw someone who since he arrived here, was desperate to connect with someone and somehow, they had. There was a connection that was undeniable and Cristina felt it everytime they spoke. She couldn't walk away from him. She refused but would it eventually come to that?
"Por favor no llores Cálmese. No llores No lo hagas, por favor." She whispered to herself over and over to not cry but she could not help it, the tears were overwhelming as she stomped toward the gate, hurrying as fast as she could. She did not want to be here and she just wanted to be gone before the tears actually did spill. She could only will them away for so long. She signed her name quickly and when she looked up and noticed Alec walking toward her, she set the pen down, turned around and walked away. There was no way she could be around him right now. He would hate her too and she didn't want that.
