Who: John Blackwell and Sydney Sage When: Tonight Where: Sydney's Gravesite What: RESURRECTION TIME Warnings: corpse related warnings and the murdering of an innocent, ya'll
When it came to deals John didn't like it when he was cut loose without payment. It wasn't his fault that Lissa turned leaf and became whole again. He hadn't been there for the event but he knew enough to know that Lissa was no longer playing the role of a bully that wanted to torment her friends. Why they decided to take her back and hide out was something that was confusing but at the same time he didn't care. John knew that he would get what he wanted out of the Queen or he would get it out of Adrian. One way or another he was going to win because in the end John always succeeded in his plans.
Spirit was something that intrigued him both in its power and how delicate and dangerous it was all at the same time. He had seen it in use over and over thanks to Lissa forcing Adrian to display it. Where did it come from? How powerful was it and could John figure out a way to take it for himself? He wanted Lissa for that but she wasn't the only one who could use it. Adrian was in pain. There was nothing that he would give up to have his lost love back and John was going to feed on that. He was going to exploit it because he was going to give Adrian back what he wanted.
Sydney Sage was a talented young magic user although that was the extent of what John knew of her. John could see that Sydney seemed to display a talent for spells and while her magic wasn't as potent as dark magic John felt that with the right training Sydney could become formidable in her own right. John didn't owe the girl anything but he needed her and maybe he did feel a tad bit sorry for her death. Nobody with potential should die so horribly - so prematurely.
The balancing of life and death was no easy task. John literally had to drag someone from the Projects all the way out to where Sydney was buried. He had no problem killing someone who meant nothing to him as this world was on the verge of suffocating itself anyway. Nobody would miss one more dead body. Even with dark magic John knew that resurrection spells either worked or they didn't. The Balcoin book of shadows was one he memorized and deciphered the moment he laid his hands on it and this spell which brought back the deceased in an exchange of the life given could go wrong. So many things could happen but John was willing to risk it. The display of his power. Returning Sydney back to life. It was all part of his plan.
The life that he was offering was burned to nothing with a simple snap of his fingers as John began the incantation. The soul sacrificed would switch places with the soul that he needed while simultaneously revitalizing the decaying body of the dead alchemist. John could feel his power rising, his dark magic mixing into the spell to give it more fuel, his eyes becoming dark as he finished the spell and felt the ground rumble.
The dirt seemed to give away on its own as John took a step back, his body feeling the effects of such a powerful spell but he managed to keep himself from passing out.
