The feeling of such a large hand around his neck was excruciating. He knew that this was it for him, and he just hoped that Thor survived. Banner had already been sent away, so others would know what was coming. As long as Thor survived, though, a part of Asgard would also survive. That was what mattered.
"You...will never be...a god..." It was a struggle to speak, but he wanted Thanos to know what he thought of him. How beneath him he truly was. The Titan was completely mad in his quest, and he now only hoped that Thor and the others would be able to stop him.
He heard rather than felt the snap of his neck, and then...
He woke up with a start, covered in sweat and gasping for breath. He immediately knew that it wasn't just a dream, though. He had heard of others here suddenly gaining memories from things that had happened to them in their home worlds, and it seemed that it had finally happened to him.
It took him a few seconds to stop feeling like he couldn't breathe. He wasn't dead, not here. That was what mattered. Getting to experience his death (or rather re-experience, he supposed) was hardly pleasant, though. He wouldn't wish that on anyone.
No, that wasn't true. He would wish that on Thanos.
