Loki was so happy recently that he felt like he was going to burst. He wasn't sure he'd ever been so happy in his life. A part of him wondered if he should be expecting something awful to happen to ruin it, but he couldn't even focus on that sort of thing for long. No, instead he could only really think about how much in love he was with Darcy, and how he would do anything for her. That was why he was out now, actually.
He wanted to get her something special. He had quietly done a little research into what the marriage customs were on Earth. Some might think that maybe they were moving too fast, but Loki would insist that they should live in the now. While he knew that he would live for a long time, humans were fragile. There were things that he could possibly do to prolong Darcy's life (although it was harder to do here than in his home universe where he could properly find things that he needed to do it), but, for now, there was something else he wanted to do.
He knew that people on Midgard, when they got married, exchanged rings. It wasn't that different on Asgard, but there was also an engagement ring when you asked. While he didn't know Darcy's ring size, that was something that he could easily fix with magic. If things were normal, he would make the ring himself, but things were more complicated here. Resources were more tight. He had seen a jewelry store in Everett during his wanderings before, so he thought that he could find something suitable there.
He found the jewelry store intact, with the door still locked and everything. Taking a look around to make sure that there were no zombies about, he easily broke the door open, walking inside and taking a look around.
To his surprise, it seemed that the Fates were smiling on him for once, because he came across a ring that was perfect. Grinning, he took the ring, pocketing it as he walked out of the shop.
