"The Blue Lady?" Karolina asked, arching an eyebrow in his direction. While she was familiar with generic Judeo-Christian theology, she couldn't put "The Blue Lady" together with Mary. If anything, she thought of her own soft glow and how it could look blue sometimes. It was more like blue mixed with pink mixed with yellow and purple and a kaleidoscope of bright beautiful colors. There was some blue in there, but Karolina wasn't a blue lady.
"I don't think so. I used to be part of The Church of Gibborim. Most people haven't heard of it here so I think it's only part of my world. I don't know."
Karolina wished that she did know. She wished she could get her hands on a damn Book of Gibborim so she could resume her studies. Frankly, she had read it so often that she was trying to transcribe it from memory into a notebook but it wasn't coming out quite right. Hilarious, since Karolina was actually Gibborim herself and simply had no idea.
"And I don't really pray at all anymore. I guess you could say I've lost my faith."
Karolina gave Ben a sad smile and snapped her bracelet back on so that her glow immediately went away. She didn't want to feel her light. She didn't want to feel the thing that made her what she was because what she was had no real explanation, not even in the Book of Gibborim.
"Maybe I should try running, but what's the point when you can fly?"
