Something was going on in the prison, or really, Everett as a whole. Luckily, it wasn't affecting Peyton. She didn't know how but there were rumors of a ship, but Peyton hadn't seen in and it was probably because she had left her own party early. As much as she wanted to have a night with great music and laughs and fun, it just made her long for something else. Someone else. Wasn't that how it always worked out though? You finally get something that you longed for for so long and then in an instant, it was just gone. It seemed to be Peyton's luck. She lost nearly everyone she cared about, everyone she loved. They either left or well, now she left them. Against her will, but still - leaving was leaving and she had no idea what Lucas was even thinking at this point. She knew that she was supposed to go to LA to do her internship, but she would have at least still kept in touch with him, but here, she had no access to that, to him, to anything that resembled home.
Except for her cell. And Brooke. Thank God, she had Brooke. Without her, Peyton didn't know if she could have survived this. No, she could have. She could have survived it, but she wouldn't have wanted to.
The walls in her cell were a grey and she managed to stencil in a trim with white paint. It was a little bland, but it was still a work in process. The sketches she did have hung were backed on red cardstock and then stuck on the wall. Sketches of her father, her house, her friends from home. Brooke. Lucas.
And right now, she was sketching her and Brooke together, but the missing pieces who were like ghosts behind them. It was a reminder that she was moving on, but she wouldn't forget. The Ghost was playing through her headphones as she pushed the charcoal pencil along the page and she saw a shadow before she looked up, seeing Kira. Peyton smiled, giving her a small wave. Kira, her roommate was spunky and she was a lot of fun. It was a nice distraction to the crap that was going on here and something told her she was just a little lonely too. Normally, Peyton would just continue, but she didn't and instead, put her book to the side and pulled her earphones from her, setting those to the side.
"What's up?" She asked, moving to lay on her stomach from the top bunk so she could look down at her.
